Welcome to 2006. I ushered in the new year by getting ready for my music teacher partnership at a nearby elementary school. It's only been 2 days and so far I've heard over a dozen excuses as to why students didn't bring their music or instruments. I've encountered 2 broken saxophones, a tuba that needed a new spit valve and a french horn that is reportedly "out of tune and only three notes play." I've also had to stop kindergartners from eating colored pencils, with one student daring to lick the pencil before handing it to me. However, there are finer moments of the process and of course, worse things could happen.
We open the new year with a submission from Macoli. He brings us back to the past with touching transcription of Chrono Trigger's "At the Bottom of the Night." He chooses the historical .it format. For those of you that experience difficulty playing it, can try using VLC Player to hear the music. Rounding out the update is Matt 'barieuph' Russo's Doppelganger, a rendition of Doopliss' Battle Music from Paper Mario 2. Both use different styles of remixing but are equally as enjoyable.
As we bring in the New Year we must continue to look forward. The future for sound test has a bright and great year ahead of it. Many new things and changes to come. A reminder to all is to use the link at the top of the page to email their compositions so that they aren't eaten by our spam filter! Thanks and Stay Tuned!
