Death To Rumors - Yuber is NOT playable. - Gremio can NOT be saved at Soniere. He will be restored later if you get all 108 characters. -Odyessea can NOT saved. - Pahn CAN be saved if you fight with General Teo wisely. Listen to what Teo says to you to know what his next attack is. Fight smart. Tips - De-equip Gremio of all valuable items before going to Soniere. - You cannot retreive items from dead charachers. -ÊIf one of the characters die during battle, the special ending will NOT work. You will need to use your last save point. (So far, Eillen & Max are characters that tend to do this. Dont use them in battles just in case) - When facing Sonya, get your best party for its a tough battle.

Chandler and Chapman's Care to browse the stock? Howdy! Welcome to Chandler and Chapman's! We kept the Liberation Army up and running with our fine wares and goods. Just between you and us, without us this ragtag bunch would have been nothing ;)! After all, an Army's only as good as it's gear! Unfortunately, even we didn't have everything in stock =(. This is a list of the special items that you can't find in stores that enemies leave behind randomly after you defeat them. (Rumaging through the dusty, cobwebbed thing that is my brain, I unfortunately canât remember exactly where I found everything, so the list may be partially inaccurate. I also havenât found everything, so if you know of something not on here let me know!) Crystals Thunder Crystal -- Simurghs around Gregminster Flowing Crystal -- Sirens in Shasarazade Rage Crystal -- Mages in Moravia castle Okay, I just stumbled onto this yesterday while playing Suikoden. I know that this isn't from an enemy, but since this seems to be the only place you can get another Rage Rune and it's semi-secret, I thought I'd mention it. There's a "hidden" chest in Neclord's chambers (where you fought him). Go down to the stained-glass windows at the bottom of the room. Below (or in front of, I should say) the center window is a chest containing a Rage Crystal. It's covered by the window, so just feel around for it. It should be right underneath the circle at the top of the window. Boar Crystal -- Death Boars on the Dwarven Trail Prosperity Crystal -- Sirens around Kalekka. There's also supposed to be a way to get one at the beginning of the game. If you go to Sarady at the begining of the game BY YOURSELF (instead of going upstairs once you get home from the audience, leave), the man who says "Odessa is a 9 foot tall giant" will give you one. If you go with ONLY Ted with you in your party the man gives you a Fortune Crystal. When Ted first comes running out of the dining room at your house and joins your party, you don't have to go to your room. Instead, leave town and head up to Sarady. Unfortunately I've never been able to make it there (those damn Ants keep killing me! Oh, the shame!). So, for those of you with Game Sharks.... Phero Crystal -- Enemies around Garan Fortress Trick Crystal -- Enemies in the Drawven Vault and the Northern Checkpoint (?) Resurrection Crystal -- Enemies around Neclord's Castle/Warrior's Village Rune Frgaments Defense Rune Piece -- Rock Snails on Mt. Tigerwolf Fortune Rune Piece -- "?" on the big Trick in Lepantâs Mansion. The first time you land on it you'll recieve a Dragon Seal Incense. Speed Rune Piece -- Elementals in the Cave of the Past Water Rune Piece -- Slimes on Mt. Tigerwolf Thunder Rune Piece -- One of the enemies on the Dwarven trail (? Iâm not sure if this is right. I know itâs from somewhere near this section of the Empire, though) Earth Rune Piece -- Boars around Bandit's Hideout Armor Windspun Armor -- Elite Soldiers in Gregminster Palace Master Garb -- Rabbitbirds and Earth Golems around Moravia Taikoku Wear -- Rockbusters in Seek Valley Horned Helmet -- Imperial Soldiers in Gregminster Palace Mangosh -- Armors and Female Soldiers in Pannu Yakuta Crimson Cape -- Ninjas around Gregminster Speed Ring -- Mirages around Moravia Power Rings -- Colossuses (ssuses*ack!*=P) in Gregminster Palace Antiques Hex Doll -- Killer Rabbits around Kaku Peeing Boy -- Pink Vines in Seek Valley Goddess Statues -- Whipmasters in Moravia Japanese Dish -- Beastmasters (?) around Kaku Chinese Dish -- Enemies in the Dragonâs Den (?) Bonsai -- Jokers in Sonniere Prison. I'm told that you can also pick up Chinese Dishes, Peeing Boys, and Hex Dolls off of them as well. Persian Lamp -- Slotmen in Lepantâs Mansion Fine Bone China -- Enemies in Neclordâs Castle Graffiti -- Enemies in Neclordâs Castle and a few other places (I forget which) Lanscape Painting -- Banshees in the Cave of the Past Nature Painting -- Orcs around Gregminster Lover's Garden -- Orcs around Gregminster Special Sound Setting 3 -- Sirens in Shasarazade Window Setting 3 -- Sunshine Kings in the Dragon's Den. You can also find Window Setting 1 in a hidden chamber in Scarlettica. On the ground floor examine the painting of Milich and reply that he too was a victim. A hidden stairway will then open up. Nameless Urn -- Holly Fairies around Rikon. It'll take around 20 fights or so to get one. You need this to recruit Jabba. It's the one thing that he can't appraise. You know, if it's called the "Nameless Urn," then it really isn't nameless, since....oh never mind. Opal -- Enemies in Sonierre Prison. It'll take around 20 or 30 fights to pick one up. Esmeralda needs this before she'll let you "kidnap" her. (Special thanks to Fou Amadou, Iino Kana, Saadarby, WyvernShdw, Rastid918, Gtsin, Venus as a Boy, Kage, Fuma, and Chaser for helping me with this list)

Onil's Gossip Heard anything interesting lately? Onil: Hey! I'm Onil! I make it my business to know a little bit about anything. Say, did you hear that.... Gossip Suikoden 2 is under development in Japan! Whoo hoo!!! A recent e-mail mentioned this to me, and I'm estatic! Characters from Suikoden will appear in the sequel. Data from the first game will be available to the second. Like the SSI AD&D games, your old files (characters, stats, items, etc.) can be transferred over to the sequel. Don't save over those Suikoden files! The game will be multiplayer. Planned release date is April 1998! I'll get more information as soon as I can. Or even better, if you have any info on it at all, tell me! Please! (Special thanks to Iino Kana and the members of the Patio for getting me the information I have) Suikoden is being developed for Windows! Well, in Japan anyway. (Special thanks to Vice for the info) WARNING! SPOILERS ABOUND PAST THIS POINT!!! Important storyline tidbits you may not know about: The second duel, between Pahn and Teo, is set up so that Pahn will lose. However it is possible for him to win. Provided he1s at a relatively high level and you make the right choices, he can win! My Pahn was at level 36 with the best armor and weapon possible and I still only made out by the seat of my pants. Though I've learned that if you always DEFEND, you can beat him pretty easily. If you win, Teo shows mercy and lets Pahn go instead of executing him for treason. Why is this important? Read on.... It is possible to SAVE GREMIO! To do so, you must have all 108 Stars recruited and alive (minus Gremio) before you meet for the final battle. Leknaat will then save Gremio from his fate! Unimportant(?) storyline tidbits: Put Meg in your party then go to her home in Lenankamp.... Put Krin in your party then go talk to the men in the Lenankamp inn.... Take Clive with you and examine the gravestones in Rockland.... (Special thanks to Andella for thinking of this) Other Stuff Man, this one stumps everyone (me included when I got here)! Okay, in Neclord's castle look at the paintings in this order: 4th, 2nd, 1st, 3rd Once you get the binoculars from Ivanov, you can use the second-player controler to change/rotate the view in the battles. It's really cool when you do this during one of the spectacular magic attacks =). (Special thanks to Iino Kana for telling me this) To take a "Cursed Bath" place 6 Hex Dolls and 2 Graffitis in the bath. What happens, you may ask? Ever see the horror movie "House?" (Special thanks to Mazri Hyogo for telling me about this) Other "special" baths include: Place a Peeing Boy in the upper right spot (when you gotta go, you gotta go....) 6 Hex Dolls (without the Graffitis) 6 Persian Lamps 6 Flower Urns, a Landscape Painting and a Nature Painting (Special thanks to Iino Kana for sending these to me. Good luck getting them though. They're going to take a lot of fights.... The only ones I've seen are the Peeing Boy and the Hex Doll ones. If anyone gets the other two, let me know what they're like!) If you've been to Konami of Japan's Suikoden page, you might know about the "9th Old Book." Though all they say is: "Well, then. To be able to see the 9th Old Book...." or something like that. Interested? To see the 9th Old Book you need to have all 8 Old Books. Put the cursor on the 8th book then press all four buttons (circle, square, triangle, x.) at the same time. (Special thanks Chitose Ayano for telling this.) When playing Gaspar Chin-chiro-rin, the longer you play the greater the chance of you losing. You're almost guarnteed to win the first time, but after that the chance steadily drops. The sneaky guy probably just throws the first game to lure you in.... Anyway, the safest way to play is to bet once, win if you can, then quit, then come back and play again. This doesn't always work though, and like he says "Luck is a matter of timing." If your on a bad losing streak, stop playing (for a while) all together. Also, on your throw try to aim as close to the CENTER of the bowl as possible. If you drop the dice on the sides of the bowl, you stand a chance of some of them going out, and if the dice do stay in they almost always land 1-2-3 (you pay double) or 1-1-1 (you pay triple, which really sucks hosewater)! (Special thanks to PokoPoko and Iino Kana for telling me the name of the game, and that it was created by the Yakuza) While on the subject of gambling, some of you have noticed a pattern in Marco's cup game. If you haven't, the first ten cups are always: M, L, M, L, R, R, L, L, M, L. After ten, just leave and talk to him again. Unfortunately that sneaky Marco doesn't follow the pattern once he goes to your castle. The trick about it being in the same place every time doesn't work either! If there is a pattern or trick for inside the castle, I haven't found it yet. If you have, tell me please! I keep losing to Gaspar! (Special thanks to Fou Amadou for helping me with the pattern). Typos (D'oh!): In the begining of the game when you're protecting Ted from the Imperial Guard, Pahn calls Gremio Cleo. Vincent reffers to himself by his Japanese name (Vanson) several times. (Special thanks to Jeff Satterfield for bringing these up) Mysteries (oooh!): What is up those %$@$ stairs in the Great Forest?! Isn't this the million bit question. Several people have sent in e-mails that in the original Japanese version, 2 of the 108 characters were up there. By taking various people with you in your party (some have said it's the 4 elves, others have said it's Kirkis, Sylvina, Stallion, Kuromimi, and Gon) the shopkeeper would let you up. Unfortunately, some friends of mine in Japan have tried these and they don't work. They also said that all 108 characters are found in the same places as in the American version. So the question remains: what is up those stairs, and how do you get up there?! (Come on! You're the leader of the Liberation Army! Why can't you get up there?! Between the thousands of heavily armed troops, Dragon Knights, sorcerers, ninjas, merchants, etc. at your disposal, you can't think of a way to get this guy to let you up?! "Won't let me up, huh? I'd like you to meet a friend of mine...." then BAM!!! Out comes Mr. Souleater! Oh well....) (Special thanks to all of you who took the time to send in your theories about the stairs) What is Pesmerga's connection to Yuber? Who is Clive looking for? What is this fascination with stews??? Anyone know of anything else to add to the list? There's a lot more tips and strategies I want to put on here. To everyone who's sent me them, thanks, I'll get them up soon. I also hope to put a guest book here....as soon as I learn how to make one that is....=)

Uniting During battle some characters can unite and do a combination attack which can cause devestation damage to the enemies. All you need to do is have two characters use the fourth-level spell from two harmonious runes during the same round of combat. The runes unite as follows: Fire Rune and Earth Rune Fire or Rage Rune and Mother Earth Rune Earth Rune and Wind Rune Mother Earth Rune and Cyclone Rune Wind Rune and Water Rune Cyclone Rune and Flowing Rune Water Rune and Lightning Rune Flowing Rune and Thunder Rune Lightning Rune and Fire Rune Thunder Rune and Fire or Rage Rune

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Protectors When certain characters are low on health (so low that they must rest in a weakened posture), there are other "protector" characters that will jump in front and take any hits directed at them. This protector/portected relationship is always related to that of the characters themselves, be it for love, friendship, or other reasons. Protector Protected Gremio = Hero Cleo = Hero Pahn = Hero Kasumi = Hero Pahn = Cleo Camille = Gremio Lepant = Eileen Eileen = Lepant Eileen = Sheena Tai Ho = Yam Koo Yam Koo = Tai Ho Kimberly = Tai Ho Hix = Tengaar Gon = Kuromimi Both characters must be in the same party for this to work (of course).
