In this FAQ, I will help evaluate Pokemon so that you will know exactly which Pokemon to use in your team. You will have trouble choosing Pokemon from the very beginning. Should I choose Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle? Pokemon have different weaknesses and strengths, and this file will help you choose the best Pokemon. 1. NORMAL POKEMON These are your basic Pokemon. Okay, but nothing all that special. They have plenty of attacks at their disposal, and they can use almost any type of attack. These Pokemon aren't that useful later in the game, although strong in the beginning. 2. GRASS POKEMON Grass Pokemon are strong Pokemon, and should be in yuor party from the very start. they will help you throughout the game, and you should probably use Bulbasaur at the beginning. Although, you can also use the "swap-start-new-game-trick" by choosing Chrmander, storing it with a friend, and repeating with all three Pokemon. Repeat a fourth time to get estra experience points. 3. WATER POKEMON Water Pokemon are also very powerful, starting off with Blastoise (a best all around water pokemon) and Gyrados (a great Pokemon!). They can make short work of Fire, Rock, and Ground Pokemon, and are also powerful against many others. 4. FIRE POKEMON These strong Pokemon are great! Using Charmander or Flareon is really good. They can defeat Grass Pokemon with ease. 5. POISON POKEMON These are really weak. They are not strong against anything and are weak to ground types. Don't Bother with them. 6. DRAGON POKEMON Use these at all costs! When you get the hard-to-get Dragonite, your hard work really pays off! It's Hyper Beam and Dragon Rage are an asset. 7. GROUND POKEMON Sandshrew and Dugtrio may be tough contenders, but nothing can beat the fearsome power of the Rock/ Ground type GOLEM! Equip it with Dig, Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Fissure to make yourself a powerful Pokemon 8. ROCK POKEMON Onix and Rhydon are powerful Pokemon, but you should probably use Golem (see above). 9. FLYING POKEMON These Pokemon are powerful, but they aren't all that useful late in the game. Using Pidgey, Pidgeotto, and then Pidgeot will help you a lot through the first half of the game, then they steadily become less useful. 10. PSYCHIC POKEMON These powerful Pokemon are an asset. Start b evoling an Abra, then evolve it into a Kadabra, and then, into Alakazam. Late in the game, Mewtwo is even more powerful. 11. ELECTRIC POKEMON These are an asset to your team. Not only can they defeat Flying and Water Pokemon, they can defeat many other Pokemon with ease using THUNDER. 12. GHOST POKEMON These are useful in the middle of the game, then they become less and less useful, as they deal less and less damage. 13. BUG POKEMON Though they are the only ones who aren't affected very much by Psychic attacks, they are suspectible to EMBER. Don't Bother. 14. FIGHTING POKEMON These Pokemon are powerful, but are weak to Psychic attacks. But, given the best Fighting attacks and using Primeape, Fighting Pokemon kick butt. 15. ICE POKEMON These Pokemon are strong against Grass Pokemon, but there aren't many of those Pokemon in the game. They are also weak against Fire. Personally, I don't use them. Give them a try and tell me what you think.
