DUPLICATING POKEMON(S) Fight Safari Zone PokŽmon "Finding" The MISSINGNO. PokŽmon AND How to duplicate items w/o Game Genie or Game Shark ------------------- Version 1.01 (1/22/99) By: Nusakan (Phong Nguyen) E-mail: Nusakan@msn.com This is my PokŽmon ================================================================================ ================================================================================ Duplicating PokŽmon Requirements: -2 gameboy -Any version of PokŽmon -Link cable (needed for trading) Downside: -There is a possibility that your saved game might be lost but I've tried this A LOT and nothing has happened yet. If this does happen please E-mail me. -You lose a PokŽmon (use a weak, useless one) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steps Step #1 -You need to have person #1 bring up his/her useless PokŽmon (let's say a Magikarp) with him/her and person #2 with a PokŽmon (let's say an Eevee) that you're duplicating. Step #2 -Make sure the link cable is connected. -Both of you go to the PokŽmon Center and begin entering the Trade Center. Step #3 -From here go the PokŽmon trading screen. (the screen where you decide on what PokŽmon you want to trade) Have person #1 pick his/her weak PokŽmon (Magikarp) and person #2 pick his/her PokŽmon (Eevee). -Confirm the deal. Step #4 NOTE: Person #2 (with the Eevee) will be turning his gameboy off. -About half way through the trading routine (around where the second PokŽmon is being traded) be prepare to have person #2 (who originally had Eevee) turn his/her gameboy off. -right after the second PokŽmon stats screen will be a "please wait" on your screen. As soon as that "please wait" disappears person #2 will turn off his gameboy will turn off his/her gameboy right away. -Person #1's screen will say trading complete and will freeze (because it's waiting for person #2's game to reply to person 1's game) have person #1 turn off his gameboy. Don't worry you won't lose anything. If this does work person #1 and person #2 will have an Eevee. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== "Fight Safari Zone PokŽmon" trick This trick is found at http://www.pokemon.com so I don't take credit for it. This trick allows you to fight and catch the Safari Zone PokŽmon outside of the Safari Zone. 1. First, you must have a PokŽmon with the Surf Ability. 2. Go to the Safari Zone and go to the area where the PokŽmon you are trying to catch is found. Stay in the section until your time runs out. Basically go fight the PokŽmon you want and then waste all the time after that without going into another battle. 3. Go to the Seafoam Islands by Surfing south of Fuchsia City. Make sure you do not encounter any enemies on the way, or the trick will not work. This does not include the PokŽmon in the water on the way there. 4. At the edge of the islands, there is a strip of the screen that is half land, and half water. Surf on this section and just keep going up and down on it. When you encounter an enemy, it will be the PokŽmon from the Safari Zone section you just left. This timethough, you will be able to fight them and use the other balls on them. Note: Using this trick in other areas may cause the MissingNo Quirk. If the directions are followed, it will work. This is the End of my FAQ hopefully there is no error...if there is just E-mail me and I will fix it in a flash. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== "Finding" the MISSINGNO. I believe it's called the "Missing Number" PokŽmon. I haven't done any real research on knowing when you can find this unusual PokŽmon but here's how you can find it. The downsides: -Your hall of Fame will be screwed up (if you encounter it..) even if you didn't save!!! -If you successfully catch it...the game will freeze. Why is it on the game? I believe it's one of those PokŽmon that Nintendo decided to cut off for some reason. They didn't delete them properly I guess. Other games like Crono Trigger and Final Fantasy III have Items that can be found using the Game Genie but were cut off. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any two PokŽmon that do Surf and Fly, I believe this will work. This is what I did: Step #1 Talk to the old man who says he's had his coffee in Viridian City. Let him teach you how to catch PokŽmon by saying you're not in a hurry. Step #2 When the old man is done talking to you fly to Cinnabar Island. When you reach there "walk" to the right as far as you can. Use Surf. Note that you're on the edge of the island (the left half of your PokŽmon is on land and the right half of your PokŽmon is on water. Step #3 Surf up and down on that area only until you get attacked. one of those attacks will be the MissingNO (there is another one with an unrecognizable name but still the same PokŽmon). You'll also notice that some of the attacks that occur will be PokŽmon with extremely high levels like lv. 123 or PokŽmon with lv. 0. Keep that in mind...it's working just right. One of those attacks will be the Missing NO.(make sure you're on that edge of the island...if you leave then you have to start over) ================================================================================== ================================================================================== How to duplicate items w/o Game Genie or Game Shark This trick is very easy. If you can find MissingNO. then you can do this trick. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step # 1 In your items listing (your item menu, not what's in your PC) put the item you want to duplicate as the sixth item in the list from the top. Step # 2 Do the "Find MissingNO. Trick. When you find and kill MissingNO. or the other one that looks like him, your sixth item will be duplicated. You'll notice a picture of some sort next the # of that item you duplicated NOTE: I haven't tried the "SPECIAL ITEM" that is Unique and one of a kind. I'm talking about stuff like the Town Map or the Lift Key....Stuff that you only need one of. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Credits: Phong Nguyen David Fish Todd Rawlings Steven Nguyen Kory Nixon ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This Guide is copyright 1998 Phong Nguyen.
