Soul. Restless spirit fluttering along the wind,
Mind. Hopeless dreams journeying across the sky,
Body. Lifeless shell crumbling into abyss,
You shall not be forgotten.
The past can do nothing but mourn,
The present can do nothing but contemplate,
The future can do nothing but remember,
You shall not be forgotten.
Poor, confused soul, scorching the skies with secretive scorn,
Your past cries out; it condemns you,
Toppled by another, slain by yourself,
You shall not be forgotten.
Poor, regretful soul, sulking past the shining stars,
The day cries out; it thanks you along the whistling wind,
Forgiveness from another, heresy to yourself,
You shall not be forgotten.
Poor, neglected soul, resting on rainbows of remembrance,
The future cries out; for all time it shall embrace your deeds,
Noble sacrifice to another, damnation to yourself,
You shall not be forgotten.
Whisper to me, sweet sounds of tranquil times and days gone by,
Whisper to me, sweet sounds of birds bathed in a cerulean sky,
Whisper to me, sweet sounds of a humanity's abysmal cry,
Whisper to me, sweet sounds of the forgotten who die.
Soulless, deranged mind,
Cursed with power, wanton lust,
Deriding tempest.
Author's Notes: Well, this poem is actually quite interesting. I was bored in study hall one day, so I decided to try my hand at Haiku. My subject? Our beloved Ghaleon of the Lunar series. My inspiration? Well, just watch the movie in Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete where Ghaleon SPOILER supposedly dies and you can see his garments being carried by the wind END SPOILER, then you'll be forced to excuse all of the sky references. I had originally intended the whole poem to be an extended Haiku, but alas, I still need more practice with it, I think, as you can see from the last stanza of the poem. Also, this was my first attempt ever at trying to seriously write free verse poetry...I'm a rhymer by nature, teehee. I would really appreciate any comments, positive or negative, so please, if it moved you somewhere warm inside or made you spit in disgust, do tell. =)
