AGE C++, MS-WORKS, etc.. Created by Tammuz Sandaa (c) 1997,1998 zermetallif@hotmail.com ============================================================================= Version 19.0 September 1998 Created with Vis. Age C++ ============================================================================= Updates: NOTICE! There will be an HTML version of MFSFFW!!! 1.0 Dec.1997:Made up my very first walkthrough on Final Fantasy I 1.1 Dec.1997:Mentions that needs to be opened with WordPad or MS-Word... 2.0 I spelled check(a little bit) this walkthrough to be perfect for this walkthrough. 3.0 did that spell check through all and updated the whole walkthrough again so that Andrew Vestal won't say "This information is already written on Zach Keene's(but he hasn't updated since 1996)walktrhough." But, AV put the walkthrough on here, so I want him to give out any mistakes... Oh yeah, I have nothing against Zach Keene or Andrew Vestal, so don't get ideas. 3.1 beat it and added some extras 4.0 added the "FAQ" in case you start asking anymore questions 4.01 added Anna and someone I mentioned elsewhere in the deedeecations(well, I want to call it that) page 4.11 mad stuff is gone, you can see how to get to the FC! 5.11 added "Party's LV" thingy 5.21 moved "HP results" so that Kevin guy won't bug me about "Your recommendations are too high!" 6.0 added japanese names for the beginning classes, fix up "HP and MP results" Enjoy while you can. I'm flaring with e-mail on this walkthrough. But, keep it down the next three weeks, I have to go on a trip. 7.0 because Kevin can't read, I added a "Beginner's Party LV".(NOTE: If I recommend the same Level for the party, there will only be one "Party's LV". Also, I put the recommendation on the ToC. And if it is the same as that previous chapter(for Beginner's LV), then I will just put "same" in parentheses. NOTE: If you don't see a "Beginner's Party LV" anywhere, that means it is the same as the Advanced and/or Intermediate one. 8.0 after being lazy for weeks, I'm revising it, for those, uh people, who want it on their site(Mike, once RPG Gamer is up, my walkthrough had better not be gone.) 8.1 Square Net is back on(that means me and Zach's walkthrus are back, aren't you happy Zach?)! I added a new section, or too many. 9.0 Today, 3-14-98, is Shane's birthday. Go to the "FAQ" to see why I wasn't updating. 16 more days until 10.0! 10.0 3-30-98, is my birthday. Since I haven't updated, I haven't receive much mail. 11.0 Changed some artwork, FAQ, walkthru... 12.0 You'll see... 13.0 I got to play the Japanese version(hoo boy!) 13.01 Job Mixing... 13.02 FF stuff 14.02 I got tons of releases and new stuff! 14.021 Brandy is my best friend. Shane is my second best friend. 14.121 I have no idea... 15.131 Fixed up the picture... And other things. 16.131 I'm usin' Japanese stuff 16.132 I think I updated the links... 17.0 A chart 18.0 *PANT* *HUFF* *WHEEZE* Working... on... Japanese... and killing these tags... 19.0 New remarks, if you like that stuff. I updated my FF collection too. 19.1 Fixed things, like my spell chart, and typos. ============================================================================= Table of Contents ============================================================================= I: Updates(Focus: Updates ^_^) II: ToC(Focus: Table of Contents) III: Dedications(You might wanna just skip to the Jobs section) IV: A Jobs IV: B Job-Mixing V: Misc. He is everything and, well, if it weren't for him, I wouldn't have the game in the first place. Now that I said that, there's going to be some words here that seems like I don't know God, but the truth lies here (somewhere). Oh yeah, if anyone from Nintendo reads this, that's what you get, you shouldn't have junked up the translations for us. Second, I dedicate this to that damn Shane "Scroti Boy" Sirotiak, my idiot best friend and the person I'm "making fun" in this walkthru and who was named here to help me with this walkthru(Actually, he was a Bl.MAGE and really stinked on HP). And he wants to know too much about Elizabeth(yes, I opened my bag of chips Shane). ============================================================================= Jobs ============================================================================= You stupid, didn't you look at your manual? Weren't you looking at any of the FF1 walkthru's(like Zach and my walkthru?) Here are some great ways that friends, NP, and people on RPGamer have said for job mixes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- GOOD ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fi/Fi/BM/WM-My choice! Beginner's job mix Fi/Th/BM/WM-if you've beaten it, choose this! Fi/Th/RM/WM-This was my third choice Fi/BB/Th/WM-You don't need "Haste" until later, I'm using this one right now. Fi/Fi/Fi/RM-Someone e-mailed me this one. Too much red if you ask me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODERATE ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fi/BB/BM/WM-pretty much the average one Fi/Fi/Fi/Fi-Far too expensive. Fi/Th/BB/RM-This is powerful, but not good, magic-wise BB/BB/BB/BB-My little brother tried it. BM/BM/BM/BM-one word, HP and it stinks RM/RM/RM/WM-I dunno... Th/Th/Th/Th-Uh... Ninja/Ninja/Ninja/Ninja? So much for the Excalibur. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- BAD ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WM/WM/WM/WM-that's real stupid, fighting wise. all you can do is HARM and run... BM/WM/WM/RM-Back to "HARM" or dia. Of course, there is no "WRONG" way to mix this, but I've been told these are the popular ones so if you want, you could choose these... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Misc. NES, Famicom, etc. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, here's the respitory of the FAQ... This contains some info on the game versions, etc. You may have asked why it says: (c)1987 SQUARE (c)1990 NINTENDO Well, SQUARE(not the beginning-to-start SquareSoft) had Woosely(well, he did something with it) translate this in 1987(or did some work then) so it's been there since. But if you've read the box, you see Nintendo had some business. Well first off, FF1 IS NOT A KILL-THE-DRAGON GAME. Nintendo published the game so they screwed up on it. It's not how they're making it look on the box. That's how come it says "(C)1990". Nintendo didn't publish until that year so we Americans didn't get it out on the NES until 7/90. Canadians, Mexicans, etc as well. The Famicom version? OH BOY DID THEY CHANGE IT. Small, is Knife, Iron is Hammer, Rapier(Reipyaa) stayed, Harm was Dia, even the names of enemies changed. Garland, is you saw, was Gaarando, but Spider is Black Widow(meaning they had 8-letter limit in both games), MADPONY was Crazy Horse(Hm...). Oh yeah, if you played FF7 or any other, "G" is Giru(Gilu/Gil) over there. The Japanese characters look weird, no Katakana! As far as dialogue, the characters look weird, and you can't spell your name, if it isn't Japanese. What I'm saying is, they only have two types of character alphabets in all FFs, Hiragana and Katakana. You have to spell your name in Hiragana, but it may be a Katakana name. You also could fit more into that four-space since Japanese is different. For you beginners of Japanese and you ROM translators, this should be easy to do/read. In this game, they have nothing either than the two listed alphabets. No Kanji. But, entering names, like Dragon Quest, can only be in Hiragana. Dragon Quest waited until 5 to have Katakana, Final Fantasy could use Katakana in FF2. Clinic? Oh man, that whole thing changed. Even that freak guy. In the Famicom version, he's a priest with red a yellow(AHH!!! FINAL FANTASY TACTICS!!!). You thought just changing it to a cross was it, no, not even. How could Nintendo eat Square over a stupid cross? Nintendo is just stupid(some of you say they're gay). The names were also weird. One spell was called "Shape", what's that? P.S. Why did my HP increase better than the American ROM and cart in the Japanese version(notice how I usually say that?) ---------------- Yes, the etc. Now on playing this game, I admired both but especially my own box and dox(yeah, I see you guys playing on the ROM.) Well, I'm glad I'm NOT playing the ROM. I'm enjoying my own cartridge on my NES and don't want the Famicom(not yet) or ROM. Depending on what emulator used, the music is trashy, they took out the attacking and being hit SFX. The music, sounds like a screeching cat compared to the NES/Famicom version. I know all this because I have been a ROM enthusiast and quit cold turkey because of the dangers. I then tried collecting all 11 by buying them. Well, I have a lot of FFs(don't think I just like this one and am obsessed with Final Fantasy. I've played all seven. Well, all but MQ) They also made a kinda good job on the graphics comapred to the real version. The graphics were too light and you didn't seem to fight a lot. While I was playing the real version, I noticed I tended to fight more for money (this was on my part, as well as I was just walking around with no one coming out, and this never happened at all in my cartridge version, but remember, it IS brand new.) and XP to get higher HP. Now, you should know now, that there is a sequal, for SNES or Famicom. Well, this has to do with the Famicom version of FF2j. It seems that NoA wouldn't let this one be translated because it was too much like FF1. Well, according to my editorial, no, it is not. First off, it had characters, real ones who had feelings. How is this like FF1? Okay, they said graphics. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?! Of course they are. They have the best graphics for NES or Famicom, you can't make it any better, and it seemed to sell well, but anyway, think, many things would be taken out. Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest had these problems. Althought we got 1-4 of Dragon Quest, it wasn't specifically alike. But, since I like SFC better, I had forgotten about the great games(yeah, I'm buying Dragon Quest V). Anyway, I'm getting off topic, and losing my mind. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- FAQ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Who is Speed Racer? A: I don't know. It's out of my life. Q: Why did you write a walkthrough? A: Dreams... Q: What's with the HP recommendations? A: This is for after you beat the game, to put the extra challenge of the "Beating the Game" disease. But, follow it, if you want to be strong. C: I got a kick out of your walkthrough! A: Thanks, but that's not a question, that's a comment. Q: Will you make any other ones? A: I have Final Fantasy Tactics, I'm thinking about a "Making Fun of Chanel, the Final Fantasy Tactics(?) Walkthrough". And for 5 + 6, "Making Fun of Micheyl" and "Making Fun of Micheyl II". Q: Do you like Speed(Micheyl)? A: I don't like no one. And those of you that think I'm in denial, you can and will get shot(oh boy, lawsuits there). Q: Can I put it on my site? A: Yeah, sure, but if I don't get any freak recognition, I'll go berserk. Q: If it goes on my site, can people download it free? A: I've done it, so I don't care. Q: Where is FF1 for the Famicom/ famikon? A: I really can't tell you, because if I buy it, it may be out of stock. However, if it is still on sale after I've bought a copy, I'll be happy to tell you some places. Q: How many FF games do you own? A: I will tell you: FF1-US + FF1-JPN FF2-JPN FF3-JPN FFMQ FFUSA FF5-JPN(SFAM version) FF6-JPN FF7-US-badly-translated FFT-badly-translated US version Q: How come you're not updatin'? A: What? I am... Q: Do you know where I might find Famicom/NES ROMs? A: Yes. Q: Why did you play a ROM? A: I wanted to. My Q: Why do people still use "j" to refer to FF2 for FC and FF5 for SFC and all those other non-America released games? A: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remarks I Receive ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hate to tell you this, but once one wades through all your inside jokes (which get irritating after awhile), Zach Keene's walkthrough is still superior. Better luck next time. A few minor fact corrections- Ted Woolsey did not translate FF1 Squaresoft didn't exist at the time (Square wanted to build a reputation the the U.S. beofre starting a translation company), and even after Squaresoft was created, Woolsey didn't translate until Secret of Mana. Also, there were plans for Nintendo to translate FF2, but relations between Square and Nintendo bogged down a bit. I think they also didn't want the English games to always be a few years behind (like Enix was with Dragon Warior vs. Dragon Quest), so they skiped FFs 2 and 3. -Toma I've seen that name before in an FF2 thing. Uh, start spelling right. I would give you a real good bomb, but I need "Rome Power" for that. "I think you like Crystal, Micheyl, and someone else." Reply: Die Shane...! You wanna marry Micheyl! Reply: Kelly Johnson, I'd rather commit suicide(Yes, I'm being an immature 12-year-old, but, I managed to write this...) Anyway, TIFFANY is way better. >From technomagus@theglobe.com Fri Sep 11 12:47:12 1998 Received: from Unknown/Local ([?.?.?.?]) by theglobe.com; Fri Sep 11 12:47:08 1998 To: zermetallif@hotmail.com Date: Fri, 11 Sep 1998 12:47:08 -0700 From: "Jeshua D. I'm sorry to say that you're WRONG on that. What causes all those problems (ie. the sounds not coming out right) is your emulator. I just started using BioNES for my ROMs and FF1 (among others) work PERFECTLY. Just thought you may want to know that. "Free web-based email available now at http://www.theglobe.com" Reply: Who cares? I mean, in this day and age, it is getting easier, or harder to collect the earlier games in the series. No, they can't, I've tried it, impossible, done. ============================================================================= HP and MP results ============================================================================= Well, those fighting chapters should get you going good. But if not, return to the previous area and keep fighting, you'll gain some levels. If you've beat the game, or want it less challenging and is really patient, follow my recommendations. To make the last battle challenging, not having a knight or Karate Masutaa blow him in one shot, I recommend Lv.29 for knights, 30 for monks, 37 for the weaklings, 34 for the idiots who only have harm as a harmful weapon, and the rest should depend on how you want it to be. MP? Well, just try to have 1 on Lv.8 magic before fighting Keiosu. If you want to get to Lv.50, without fighting in weak places in low chapters, go to Temp. O' Fiends, 2000 years back. Keep fighting, heck, get Masmune(actually, it's Masamune), use EXIT, and save, equip Masamune on the first knight(or the only knight), and equip Xcalbur on the second knight. This only works if you have the Kn/Kn/??/?? party. So, if Kn/Kn/KM/Ni does you well, go ahead. I'll give you a chart. Kn-Masmune(Masamune) Kn-Xcalbur(Ekkusukaribaa) KM-hands(especially if on Lv.50) Ni-Katana(or, Sun sword)(Murasame? or San Soodo) For 156HP, use Game Genie. Although, I have never recommended GG for a NES game. I like the challenge normal, but I am testing it for MFSFFW, so, I will help. To get higher HP, get three Bl. Mages, and one Fighter. HP varies, and so does MP (although you might think about CURE spells...) You know, with luck like this, I should be a pro. Time slots have been giving me trouble. I got $403 to spend. But, no reason blundering on like I did. ============================================================================= Mahou Keisenhyou, sono Mahoutsukai Jumon no Hon ============================================================================= I'm using the actually translated names, as well as Japanese... So, you spend the giru you can like this: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fighter(s)-Wpn:Rapier Amr:Chain Mag:no Bl.Belt(s)-Wpn:none Amr:Wooden Mag:no Theif(s)-Wpn:Rapier Amr:Wooden Mag:'' RedMAGE(s)-Wpn:'' Amr: '' Mag:faia, sandaa, kearu Bl.MAGE(s)-Wpn:Small Amr:Cloth Mag:faia, sandaa, rokku(Isn't that Locke's name in FF6?) Wh.MAGE(s)-Wpn:Iron Amr: '' Mag:faia, dia ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- You should have SOME giru left so save and go to the Temple of Fiends. Always keep this chart in consideration! Hey HEY HEY! Don't go to Garland yet, fight the guys you can afford at your HP level. Get to Lv.3 and whack Garland. If you don't wanna look at your chart, here. GARLAND/GAARANDO HP:108 MP:Deep Beyond the Blue Seas(FF5 song) Normal way to defeat the freak: --------------------------------- Well, all your fighting guys fight. The Wh.MAGE should occasionally cure(but should fight). The Bl.MAGE sure use FIRE or LIT Quick and Dirty way to defeat it/him: -------------------------------------- Repeat that step but your Wh.MAGE should always hit him(you are on Lv.3, aren't you?) He'll stop insulting you, he'll be used by the 4Fiends later so don't worry about him and his dang insults. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- On to Mayota's Cave(Beginner's Party LV:3)(Party's LV:5) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Walk back to the Corner of Ia(Corneria) and tell the king and princess your success. The princess gives you the LUTE(WTH??) from the Temple of Fiends 2000 years ago. So don't think you won't need it, you're going 2000 years back at the end(Thus, you can't sell it). The king opens up the bridge(Why am I writing on an old game?). Okay, before you leave, visit the invisible woman. To see her location, stop by RPGamer and look at the image(notice the fighter looks different, that's because he's not a fighter, he's a knight.) All right, they make the farting noise and continue. You reach the bridge with the infamous Final Fantasy song. Now, don't start going east unless you don't want to listen to Mayota. Her cave is far north of this bridge. If you're lucky, you'll fight some ogres, ripe for the picking, killing rather.. Mayota is missing her CRYSTAL which the Dark Elf, Astos who looks similar(but everything in FF1 almost does) to the one in FF4(FF2US). Getting her eyesight back is in the next chapter, so ignore her and go southeast, to Provaka. No no, wait, you've reached the town, don't do anything. Don't buy the weapons, possibly buy the magic, but sleep and the clinic, or church, are only important. Well, you've rested now, so leave the town and walk far south. Nothing's there right? Well, some OGREs and GrOGREs roam here. Even though your weapons aren't that good, you can kill them alive with good HP. Keep fighting until about 4200 giru(G) and you got it. See, that's how my HP was outstanding in the beginning. Well, rest, save, and fight the pirates. These guys can be called bosses(you can't fight them anywhere else.) You got a ship. The punk says you can only land in ports. That's good you read that(or me telling you) beause the north doesn't have any. The old geezer speaks of Melmond being in trouble. Ignore him, because like Mayota, it's a few chapters away.. PIRATES x 9 HP:6(each) MP:I DON'T GIVE THAT OUT Normal way to defeat them: --------------------------- Well, since this part goes for impatient, weak people, have the Wh.MAGE heal and let everyone else hit. These guys suck like the IMPs. Quick way to defeat them: ---------------------------------- There is no dirty way. You're too strong. Have everyone whack the guys and if you had any 'ra' or '2' spells, you could easily kill them with the Bl.MAGE. AND IF YOU'RE STUPID ENOUGH TO USE 'HARM', I'm not writing this. If you were being stupid like me, you should've READ what HARM does. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elf Land(Beginner's Party LV:5)(Party's LV:7) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ha, ha ha, it is Mandark, Dexter's rival! HA, ha ha! Anyway, this is where you get Mayota's eyesight back! Take this ship(yes, ship) southwest until you reach a port. Just so you know, you're stuck in this sea until you finish this chapter so don't try going elsewhere. Go in the weird looking, Cashuon-like castleve took months to think) Castle and the Marsh Cave far south. Or far west of the Elf Land. Go to the Northwest Castle. Unsuprisingly, you can't open the door except one because of the mystic KEY which you get too. Astos-- er, uh, the Lone King lost his CROWN. He said Astos ALLEGEDLY stole it and went to the Marsh Cave(how come I didn't see him there? There's the tip off he's not a king) (Cashuon is from FF2j). All the elves say there prince is in a deep sleep in favor of Astos(him again), the dark elf. What do you need? Mayota's HERB but don't you have to give her her CRYSTAL? Well, gain to about Lv.8 or 9, buy any the silver sword for the RedMAGE and Fighter and other weapons for anyone else, items or magic(FIR2 and LIT2 are the only important now) are good to stock up on. Well, you may have checked your map(At Mayota's Cave, the brooms say "Push B Select" ?ouy t'nac, sdrawckab daer nac ouY(You can read backwards, can't you?) Well, near the Elf Land is the Northwest(That must'Take your party's feet to the Marsh Cave. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marsh Cave(Beginner's Party LV:10)(Party's LV:12) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, the cave, if you want to save time, rounds up like this: Floor 1:Walk south to the small room and take the ladder downstairs. Floor 2:Well, in the two small rooms(you can go into three rooms), they contain sucky treasure, but you want to SELL SELL SELL so open 'em. Walk east now to that room and take the stairs. Floor 3:Um, well, first, open the first row of rooms of treasure. On the third, walk down until you've got to the third row. Open the treasure here, too. Go to the second room. You fight two wizards who can easily be taken out by LIT2. You open the chest and find the CROWN which you'll need in the Climax. You've reached this place, walk out this cave and return to the Elf Town.(where was Astos?) Sell all you've got and sleep. They say you need to save because of Astos, but even if you don't have the Fi/Fi/BM/WM team, you shouldn't worry. Only once outta five times has Astos casted RUB. Astos shouldn't be a problem. ASTOS HP:168 Normal way to defeat it: ------------------------- Well, have your warriors fight, Bl.MAGE(don't for RedMAGE) do ICE2(if you have it) or FIR2 or LIT2. Your Wh.MAGE heals. Quick and Dirty way to defeat it/him: ---------------------------------------------------------- Simple. Buy FAST, cast it on everyone who will fight. Then, repeat the step above and he's dead in one round. The blockhead gives you the CRYSTAL. Hop into your boat and dock and the port south of Mayota's cave or northeast of Corneria. Give it to her. She gives you the HERB. Get away from that (censor) and give the HERB to the nurse. The prince will give you the key, ending all the dumb "This door is locked with the mystic KEY" messages. Open all but I must say, if you don't want to open them all, go open the doors in Corneria to get TNT. Your canal is waiting at the Dwarf Cave. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dwarf Cave(SAME)(Party's LV:13) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't start e-mailing me for directions. You should have a map in your box, but from the only port to the Elf Land you can take, go north, west and short bit, then dock at the port. There will be a cave southwest and that's the Dwarf Cave. Everyone says "Hurray!!" or speaks of Nerrick. There will be a Dork, or Dwarf saying his ADAMANT is exhausted. Getting that is FAAAAAAAR away from now. That's CHAPTER 12!!! Nerrick is far down from these houses. You have no choice but, when you talk to him, you give him the TNT and you have a canal to escape to Melmond. And the Cresent Lake. Well, go in and get the treasure. Most you should sell, but the silver armor is for RedMAGEs so if you have one, give it to him. Leave the cave and it's time for some action with Lich. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Melmond, 4F1(Party's LV:13- 15+) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This chapter should explain the first Four Fiend and where they align. Melmond looks like well, you get it. The Vampire, whom which you later battle and should whack, has done this and the townspeople won't fix it up. He destroyed the clinic so LIFE is very plentiful. Ah ah ah, don't go killing him yet, take your ship close to the border of the Marsh Cave, and sail west You'll reach the Crescent Lake. Well, fight all the Scrops, Trolls, Bull, Giants and Cobras. Once you think you need to, rest and save at the INN. If you have over 6000 giru, now I suggest you begin buying 99 heal potions. After minutes of bordem, continue your fighting. Until about Lv.15 or you choose a reasonable limit, return to Melmond, but remember, you came to the Crecsent Lake to get the giru for magic and the steel armor. Once you've bought all that off, or that armor, head to the Earth Cave, south once you get off that border. The cave shouldn't be blue with a giant there, that's for later. The Earth Cave goes like this: Floor 1:Well, if your getting more giru, buy some houses. Notice the path north of the center and the stairs. Follow it. You'll fight Earth but you should easily toast him. Open the chest and then return to the stairs. Head west for more giru and XP. Here is the Wall of Giants. What I mean is it is a small corridor of Giants and Iguanas(they look iden- tical to the ones if FF6/FF3US). In a couple of battles, you should be rich. If you did that, leave the cave, rest at an INN, not a house and return to the cave. Back at the cave, you walk east to that end. You walk south to the stairs. Floor 2:Now that you have 99 HEAL potions and is okay, you shouldn't have a problem. Walk clockwise, star- ting up then to the end of the room. You'll get some treasure you will sell and the Crescent Lake. Take the stairs. Floor 3:Okay, head west. You run into the VAMPIRE, the freak who destroyed Melmond. Although he may seem, he's not a boss. Kill him and open the treasure. Oh yes, remember Dr.Unne's spot, you'll need him for "Get Crackin' with Kraken". You have the RUBY. Leave the cave and go to the blue one with the giant, saving with a house or buying the magic you can and walking to that cave. This cave is pretty self explanitory. But if your fighter(or whoever) does not have a silver sword and it IS there strongest weaponso far, give them the axe. Use the steps and walk south. You've reached Sarda's pad. Talk to him. The ROD he gives you is for Floor 3 of the Earth Cave. Return there and go to the stone plate. Use the rod and it'll explode. Walk down. Floor 4:Head left until you get those stairs. If you have some SOFT and want to fight Coctrices and get some treasure, do so. Floor 5:Just head north until you can go west. Go west then continue south until you reach a door with some weird things on the top. That's always a tip off the fiend is here. Now that we've got here, here's a question: These are fiends of Aristotle's elements, right? Then why are they destroying their element? Shouldn't Lich, Kary, Kraken and Tiamat or Land Turtle, Salamander, Kraken(again) and Paladin (from FF3) or Milon Z., Kainazzo, Valvalis and Rubicant nullify their element and treat it? Not wreck it and destroy it's kind? Enough, kick Lich's butt. LICH HP:400 Normal way to defeat it: ------------------------- Well, just let the warriors smooth him out. The MAGEs should cast FIR2 and/or HRM2 or 3. He should die a couple of rounds. Quick and Dirty way to defeat it: ----------------------------------- Have all warriors fasted. The MAGEs should cast their strongest magic such as FIR? and HRM?. This bag of bones should be exterminated soon. You should be happy. He can't NUKE you yet(he can and will, if you don't kill him first in the last chapter, 2000 years back), so be thankful. Way to go, you've got your first orb.Exit by walking up and return to Melmond. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crescent Lake(Beginner's LV:16)(Party's LV:20) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- What a nice rest, eh? Well, return to the Crescent Lake for the Circle of Sages. Buy the magic you can, restore on HEAL potions, sleep and talk to the sages. Since they want Kary and the rest of the fiends gone, one gives you the CANOE to go to the Volcano. This is partly why the is a changing point for those who may not want to go or is way strong to take the test at the Castle of Ordeals. This chapter was just some helpful tips into the next chapters. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changing Point(Beginner's LV:Past 20)(Party's LV:START GETTING IT PAST LV 30 or 25) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's getting there. The part of the game where you can go your own way. Here are the catogories you need to know to continue: Ice Cave and the Climax of the CH8A-The Ice Cave is a must but it goes to CH8A. You get your airship and go to Cardia to go to Ordeals. Or, take the Ice Cave and stay at the lake and use your airship to fly there. Check yourselves to see where it is. Take your pick. But if you want to easily beat the game, you must listen to the two chapters regardless if you take the Volcano next or not. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ice Cave(Beginner's Party LV:21+)(Party's LV:25+) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is one of the HARDEST events in the game. Don't have so much pride (hey, I was watching Seven..). It's too complicated to explain the way but, remember Provoka? I told you to walk south? Hop in your ship go north to that port. No, go to that river and go north, but not the farthest north. Ah, you'll see it on the map... Go west and follow that path. The cave awaits. You have some houses, right? Use one and go in. A note: I suggest you go change your jobs here. I've begun thinking... After you get the airship, you will probably use it, right? Well, if you make the ship go north with the canoe, you don't have a long walk to the CoD(not Cleft of Dimension). Floor 1:Well, the first set of stairs you see, go up it. Floor 2:Anyway you go, you'll end up at the end of the room so it doesn't matter. Floor 3:This one is too hard. Floor 2B:Find the treasure then go into the big room. Whatever pitfall you choose, you'll end up in the same room. Floor 1:Well, there's treasure west and southwest of this room. Kill anyone if you want. But focus on going south then heading north- east. Floor 3B:In a huge room. Continue to the next room. Get some treasure and the nearest steps if you have close to 99 HEAL potions. Floor 2B:Refresh yourself and prepare to take on the Eye. EYE HP:162 Normal way to defeat it: ----------------------------- Use fast. Anything that blocks his spells is good. Eye can be hard. He hits with STONE, RUB and XXXX(desu??). But since you are even stronger, he shouldn't be a bother. Quick way to defeat it/him: ---------------------------- There is no dirty way(he's too easy). Use fast, then use ICE3 and have HEAL, HEL2, CURE, CUR2, and CUR3. Don't forget LIFE! Warriors hit, MAGEs use magic, except for RedMAGE. Ah, you defeated him. Open the chest and get FLOATER. Go back to Floor 3B and then use the other stairs. Use your HOUSE and return to your ship. Sail at the end of this continent, but just go south. Go in your CANOE or that river, get out of it, get in the small desert, the Lyucahn Desert, use your FLOATER and POW! You got your airship. Save immediately! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Climax?!:The Castle of Ordeals(SAME)(Party's LV:27+) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Didn't I tell you you need that airship? Cardia is those small islands. Go in every one, search it, loot it and when you talk to BAHAMUT, fly to the Castle which would be northeast. You know the location well, soar east to the closest plain you can park and do so. Use a HOUSE once at the castle(Tip: you should replenish on HEAL potions without me telling you). However, if you want to get there quicker, use the ship after the airship(that means park the airship by the closest port from Ordeals. An old geezer is waiting. Talk to him and he'll mention your CROWN(why do they capitalize keywords in this game?). Go to the room northwest and get in the chair. Part 1: Well, go in that pillar Part 2: Go in this one Part 3: Go on the bottom pillar Part 4: If you're in that long hall, south.. Part 5: The northwest corner? The nearest one. Part 6: Bottom pillar Part 7: Not the farthest, not the closest. The third one you see. Get the Zeus too! Part 8: Stairs and you should know what to do here on out(No, don't cast EXIT, wait, you CAN'T! AHA HA HA HA!!!) You've got your TAIL at the end of the Castle? You are at the top. Take that chair. You can't cast EXIT since you aren't a wizard. Kill the Zombie D. Zombie D HP:268 Normal, Quick and Dirty way to defeat it/him: ---------------------------------------------- FAST and hit him hard. I don't want magic except for heal, life or cure to be used. He's too easy and he'll die in a minute, literally. Go back to BAHAMUT. He'll know that you took the test with the tail. He'll update your JOBS(And I already typed in what they are). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Volcano:Let's burn this **** up!(Beginner's Party LV:23)(Party's LV:30+) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fly to the volcano. The chapter is actually self-explanitory. The stairs are on the bottom, get your treasure but then, it changes. So I'll start at Floor 3. Floor 3:Walk south then west. South again. Floor 4:You just want to head east. Floor 5:Southeast.. Floor 6:Southwest, Kary's sleeping and she gets mad. Kill her... KARY HP:600 Quick and Dirty way to defeat it: ---------------------------------- FAST won't be needed. If you kept your Ice Sword put it on your second knight or your ninja or RedWIZ... Your two warriors should whack her, ICE2 or 3 and CUR3 and HEL2. There, killed her.(I should be getting paid for writing this..) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's Get Crackin' with Kraken!(SAME)(Party's LV:30- 38) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I love making fun of Kraken! The (censor) is not a problem. Oh great Shane, or Shan, you actually do something consecutive. You really suck Shane. I spent hours on this walkthrough and I should be making fun of you. And it works. It's part of the walkthrough. Go chew yourself, you suck, you black wizard, you! AUGH, SHANE'S KRAKEN!!! RUN!!!! Ahem!... Now, you should go to that northwest continent on your map. Go to the desert to the top, buy the bottle, then ignore the bottle and take the river, stop by the town of Onrac, sleep, leave continue up the river take the waterfall, work your way west then at the end go south go in the room, kill the enemies, talk to the Robot, he'll give you the CUBE, open the chests, cast EXIT(terepo) and return to the airship. Go to Gaia, the town in a valley of mountains. If your have money, buy some magic but focus going up north. North, north, then when you see a pirate, west, go to the fountain, open the bottle, you've got Oxayle and return to Onrac. Remember equip the Ribbon and Defense of your first fighter. Take the sub. Floor 2A: Now we're crackin'. Everyone in Onrac speaks of the mermaids. We'll find the. Northeast, northwest leads to Kraken, who cracks up. Anyway you're in 2A, get the chests and return to the stairs. Head south until you reach stairs on the south of 2B. Okay, here are the Mermaids. Talk to 'em if you want, you're not fighting, I don't think. Head north and take the long corridor west. There's only one cabin you can enter. Go in and take the treasure. You'll get the SLAB of bacon that Dr.Unne's brother spoke of. Leave the Water Temple and refresh if needed. Otherwise, start at the beginning. Remember I said "northwest leads to Kraken?" Go northwest. In BASEMENT 1A, you should head north. Okay, go up the stairs. Shane, you stupid, why are you getting poisoned by lobsters? Next stairs! Floor 3C:This is too hard, like in the Ice Cave. Floor 4:Head southeast. Take the stairs. Floor 3B:Head northwest. Kraken lies here. Who will crack? You or the cracking Kraken? KRAKEN HP:800 Normal way to defeat this it: ------------------------------ HEAL and HEAL quick. HEL3, and CUR4 can do the job. Whack the Krak with lightning (sandaga, LIT3) and have those warriors fasted if they can't do at least 4 hits! Dirty way to whack the (censor): --------------------------------- Fast, this is why the Kn/Kn/BW/WW is a good team. Fast the two knights, then sandaga or LIT3, the CUR4 and HEL3. He's cracked. You finished off Kraken, good work! You played the right song, Nobou! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to Get to the Floating Castle(SAME)(Party's LV:39+) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let me tell you. Level up, now's the time. I don't want you exceeding or going anywhere. Level up to around Level 30, after you do this: Fly in the airship. Take your crew to Melmond. Give the SLAB of bacon to Dr.Unne-Cool(he seems nice to me, though). You now can learn a new language! Now you go to that town, that covered by forest. It's a long walk, don't hesitate to fight. If you've already been to the town, you know they say "Lu....Pa?"(Willy Wonka?) Well, I'm telling you, the language you learned is theirs, and I forget what they called it. Here you can buy furea(NUKE) de(and) areizu(LIF2). It's north, then east, far east. They speak of the Sky Warriors, but I thought in the end of the game they said... Oops, can't tell ya. Anyway, the Sky Warriors were light warriors, they lost, but they got the name because, they gave you your airship(or made it rather..). The Sky Warriors are those bats in the Temp. O' Fiends. You'll go there later. Now, we've cracked LICH, KARY, and KRAKEN, who are we missing? TIAMAT. Next chapter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Floating Castle(Beginner's Party LV:25)(Party's LV:40+) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Mirage tower. Use the CHIME. EXIT constantly, you'll have to even if you had 600HP! MT Floor 1:Such a familiar song. In those doors, get some treasure. They're useful. Yes, stupid robot, I'm the master. Best recognize! Next steps! MT Floor 2:In the treasure room, just get outta the maze. You fight VAMPIRE(see why I don't call many monsters BOSSES?). Deequip the defense and ice. Put the Defense on the second knight or ninja or RedWIZ. Have the sun on the knight. It'll be on him for a short time since the ADAMANT is here. Or in the Floating Castle(what a mechanical place for 8-bit). Take the ladder and go upstairs. MT Floor 3:The floor is self-explanitory. But, watch out for Blue Dragon. FC Floor 1:Get any treasure but the teleporter is in the north room. FC Floor 2:AHA, Mandark strikes again. Palom and Porom do it again! This time, at the 7-11. Southwest. ADAMANT. EXIT(Telepo). Give the dwarf the ADAMANT. Equip Xcalibur on the knight and the sun on the other knight or ninja or RedWIZ. Sell the rest. Go back to the FC Floor 2 and the teleporter is south. FC Floor 3:Go east for treasure and west to teleport! FC Floor 4:You pick a way. I'll just be evil and confuse you O). Go east, then east, then south and back down south. Teleporter. FC Floor 5:North... north... TIAMAT! Hey get rid of "-MAT" and that's my niece's name. I wanna kick your old geezer fat, bloated, can't fight butt! TIA, MAN, MAT HER DOWN TIAMAT HP:1000 A way to kill her: -------------------- If the (censor) kills your wizards, alas, you're two knights(if you have them) should finish her off. They're strong enough to stay alive. And they do. Last kurisutaru(Crystal/ORB), leave airship, Temple of Fiends. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- !!The REAL Climax!!(Beginner's Party's LV:30+)(Party's LV:45 - 50) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ah, you've come.. To the turning point of the game, at such a late time. I suggest you get all your items, Lv. up and refresh yourself. Walk in the ORB in Garland's temple(whatever happened to him? Oh yeah, I know...) That song plays, you can't leave, unless you EXIT, head southeast. Just go south, east, then north into the stair. You fight Phantom, but I'm not putting him as a main enemy. Use the LUTE and go in. You'll be in the same place. So go back to where you started. Make your way west... Earth Floor- TMPoFNDS, 50 years ago: Follow the path. At the stairs, you fight Lich, 500HP.. LICH HP:500 Normal way to defeat it: ------------------------- Watch out, he can nuke ya! FAST yourself, HRM and stuff will kill him. Quick and Dirty way to defeat it: ---------------------------------- Well, FAST and HRM4 will work. Oh yes, that 99 HEAL potions comes in handy if he NUKEs you. After FAST, have your attackers fight, and mages cast. ============================================================================= Fire Floor- TMPoFNDS, 100 years ago: Here is a ProCape, if you are exploring.. Trek west to the big room.. Now head east, south and west. Kary is waiting with 700HP. KARY HP:700 Normal way to whack her: ------------------------- Suprisingly, she could harm you. Kill her. Quick way to whack the b*stard: ----------------------------------- Easy. FAST, and FADE. Boy, this beats the hell out of Final Fantasy VII, but never FFV or Tactics. FFV _IS_ my favorite game. In the series, and out of all the games in the world. ============================================================================= Water Floor- TMPoFNDS, 200 years ago: Go south and whack the Krak wit' 900HP KRAKEN HP:900 Normal way to defeat it: ------------------------- FAST(heisuto), and LIT3(sandaga), because I'm telling you now, YOU WILL need it. Kraken, being his stupid self, may blast you away. Quick and Dirty way to defeat it: ---------------------------------- Blast him with FADE, use ALIT(if you have it), LIT3, and, of course, FAST. You should blast him in two rounds. ============================================================================= Wind Floor- TMPoFNDS, 400 years ago: 4-SQUARE. The southeast one has a thing with Masmune(Masamune?). Anyone who says "Don't equip it on a fighter" is stupid. That's like giving Sephiroth the Materia Sword and Cloud has the Masamune. The first knight will have 770 DAMAGE(depending on your level, if it is small, yeah.) Anyway, who would equip it on someone who will be casting and not fighting(so there)!!! And the rest about 50-60. Equip on the first knight and give the second knight the Xcalbur(Ekkusukaribaa/Excalibur). Tiamat is on the Northeastern square. Whack her and her 1100HP. Here's a tip: If BANE didn't kill you and you are at Lv.25-29, you are lucky. Without everyone alive, you're dead(if you're weak). TIAMAT HP:1100 How to whack this b*stard: --------------------------- All I can say is, FAST(heisuto), LIF2(areizu), and NUKE(Furea[Flare]). ============================================================================= A floor, the Temple of Fiends, 2000 years ago: No enemies, in no quantity. There are no enemies because you started off, when the Temple was new, then when the Earth Fiends ruled, years back into Fire, onto Water, onto Wind, the first enemies. You get off 2000 years ago, where monsters didn't exist. And that is the time loop, folks! :) Head for the center room as a quad space for a spoiler. What? Garland? You insulting me again? SO he was the brat sent 2000 year back(I knew that)! He doesn't just sit there ohh no, he warps into Chaos(KILL HIM!!)! Before I give his vitals, I recommend you be Lv.35-50 when killing him. NP recommends 25 and Zach Keene 35 well I'm giving a range. Prepare to fight. GARLAND/GAARANDO/CHAOS/KEIOSU HP:2000(^^) The only way to whack him: --------------------------- This is the last battle. Make this worthwhile... Anyway, you want to whack his 2000 HP. He resists everything, he uses deadly magic,(also CUR4 which you want to prevent), deadly attacks(Note: If Keiosu already used Kearuda, or CUR4, he can't use it again in time, he'd die before he could use it.): CRACK- you should know, it just kills ya (you'd better have ProRing..) ast all your fighting warriors, TMPR them and secure them any other way(distract Garland). Also, get NUKE in hand and fire 'im. You white mage better help out as well. WALL first, then FADE him. If you were me, you would've been taking 1100+DMG off of him a round. With the Kn/Kn/BW/WW, he should die easily. Put the controller down and watch the ending and learn something. You beat the game. The world is saved!!
