(ahahaha, man that'd be coool) and make sure to email me BEFORE it goes to print TRY TO PLAY THE GAME YOURSELF FIRST! come on! be a man! be a woman! be a gamer!!! this is cheating if ever there was cheating, and mainly it cheats you out of your own accomplishments use this for a second run, or if you are stuck or something harsh like that...or be a cheater, I don't mind THIS IS NOT A DISCOVERY GUIDE!! that online map does it best, and I don't wanna run thru all the sayings, cause sometimes they change, and someone else is doing that... DISCOVERIES ARE A LARGE PART OF THE GAME, when you run across islands and generally fly thru the air, sometimes your compass will spin wildly, pressing the "A" button will reveal a DISCOVERY, once you find a DISCOVERY, go to a SAILOR'S GUILD and sell that info for good money, the longer you wait, the more chance Domingo will beat you to it, also, you can buy info to hint at where to find a discovery, and if you find one, but wait a long time to report it, you will get far less cash for it. There will be a FEW discoveries mentioned in this FAQ cause you need to make some for certain other events to go down This game rules, there should be several FAQs for it, consider this my offering to the cool people that made this game for me to play. That and the fifty bucks I paid for it.... B. WALKTHRU/FAQ!!!! BATTLE SYSTEM Wow, this system is very nice! you have attacks and spells like any good RPG, but you also have the SPIRIT POINT SYSTEM (SP) all the cool stuff in this game requires the use of SP. Magic Spells always cost ONE MP, but depending on the power, will cost SEVERAL SP. Your party has ONE spirit bar, and you all will share that pool of SP. Depending on you WILL and your LEVEL, you will start a battle with a set number of SP, and you have a MAX value you can achieve. Each ROUND of battle, you will add the value of SP you started with to the value of SP you currently possess. In your choice of actions, you have one called "FOCUS" which causes that character to "build up"some extra SP. SP WINS BATTLES! you NEED SP to do all the power moves in the game! Try to raise SP as soon as possible. S moves are very important. These moves are yet another choice for each turn of battle. They require only SP to be performed. Usually these are the most damaging moves in the game. Each character has a set number of S moves they can learn. To learn S moves you need MOONBERRIES. MOONBERRIES are found in treasure chests, on the Pinta Quest, and dropped from battles. More on these in the character lists. Moonstone System: you will gain moonstones during this game. There are Six, each has a specific color. During battles, you can change the color of your weapon to the color of any moonstone you possess. This affects several things. First of all, when you see an enemy in battle, you can see a set of boxes in the top right corner, the border will be a color, most colors/moonstones have OPPOSING moonstones, some are weak to one type and strong against another. Also, when the battle ends, you will gain points towards magic spells based on whatever moonstone power you have on your weapon at that time. If you want to learn Purple spells, have a purple moonstone effect on your weapon. When more than one moonstone is in effect, everyone gets *some* points for each color, but will gain the most points for whatever color individually equipped. IMPORTANT: SEVERAL PEOPLE ARE CONFUSED BY THE MANUAL ****THIS IS THE MOONSTONE CHART**** RED beats GREEN PURPLE and RED are equally strong against each other, and very strong at that BLUE beats RED PURPLE beats BLUE GREEN beats PURPLE YELLOW beats BLUE GREEN DESTROYS YELLOW SILVER and YELLOW are equally strong against each other Swashbuckler System: you will be ranked as a swashbuckler by choices throughout the game. Often you will be asked a question, and will have multiple allowed responses. Choosing wisely will allow you to gain a better reputation. It's been said that fighting battles will also increase your rating, and running will decrease it. Try to remember: Being Brave is NOT the same as being Reckless! Magic: as stated, ONE MP per spell, but MUCHO SP if it's a powerful spell each moonstone/color set has SIX SPELLS, usually four levels of ATTACK and two STATUS EFFECTS here's the list of spells, what they do, and required SP, NOT in the order learned: GREEN SPELLS: 1. Sacri, heals one ally for 500, 2 2. Sacres, heals one ally for 1000, 4 3. Sacrum, heals ALL allies for 1000, 8 4. Sacrulen, TOTALLY heals ONE ally, 6 5. Noxi, poison gas on one enemy (will cause poison sometimes as well), 3 6. Noxus, poison gas on ALL enemies (will cause poison sometimes as well), 6 RED SPELLS 1. Pyri, fire damage on ALL enemies, 2 2. Pyres, fire damage on ALL enemies, 4 3. Pyrum, fire damage on ALL enemies, 6 4. Pyrulen, fire damage on ALL enemies, 10 5. Increm, raise ATTACK and DEFENSE of ONE ally by 25%, 4 6. Incremus, raises ATTACK and DEFENSE of ALL allies by 25%, 16 PURPLE SPELLS 1. Crystali, ice damage on one enemy, 1 2. Crystales, ice damage on one enemy, 2 3. Crystaleum, ice damage on one enemy, 3 4. Crystalen, ice damage on one enemy, 4 5. Sylenis, prevents spellcasting of one target by silencing them, 2 6. Panika, causes confusion on one target, 3 BLUE SPELLS 1. Wevil, hits one enemy with whirlwind, but will also damage nearby enemies, 2 2. Wevles, hits one enemy with whirlwind, but will also damage nearby enemies, 4 3. Wevlum, summons a field of wind and water to damage a large area, 6 4. Wevlen, wails one enemy, and catches nearly all other enemies in it's large range, 8 5. Quika, doubles speed of ALL allies, and makes running easier (don't run) 6. Silpara, possibly put ALL enemies to sleep, 6 YELLOW SPELLS 1. Electri, hits a LINE of enemies with lightning, 2 2. Electres, hits a LINE of enemies with lightning, 4 3. Electrum, hits a LINE of enemies with lightning, 6 4. Electrulen, hits a LINE of enemies with lightning, 8 5. Driln, lowers ALL of ONE enemy's attributes by 25%, 3 6. Drilnos, lowers ALL attributes of ALL enemies by 25%, 6 SILVER SPELLS 1. Curia, cures one ally of any bad ailment except death, 2 2. Risan, 50% chance of bringin ONE ally back to life with 50% health, 4 3. Riselem, brings ONE ally back to life with full HP, 8 4. Eterni, instant death to one enemy, may not hit at all, 5 5. Eternes, instant death to ALL enemies, may not hit at all, 10 6. Eternum, instant death to one enemy, if target is immune, they will recieve damage, 15 CREW COMMAND: once you have your own ship and some crew members you are given a new/hidden attack choice first, you must MAX out your SP bar, then the CREW command is available to you you can either choose to have your crew members band together for an attack/heal combo or you can have your battle party do a massive attack, as long as all four are in good health the PROPHECY attack is pure attack power the BLUE ROGUE mode splits the damage of PROPHECY in half, and uses half the points towards damage on the enemy, and half towards healing your party SHIP BATTLES: YEAHHHHH!!!! THESE ARE COOL!!!! when you run into another bad ship or a really big monster, you get into a SHIP BATTLE!!!! The way this works is this; you get a grid displaying the next round, you will have as many turns in a round as you have characters in your battle party. You will assign each member to a turn, and then you will see that round played out. You will also see a "guide" to each turn, in the form of a colored dot or icon above that turn, a GREEN dot means you will recieve low damage, or the enemy will miss, it's also possibly that you have a better chance to hit and do damage, YELLOW means medium danger, and RED means a super attack or a round where you are really vulnerable. a C! means you will probably hit and get a critical one at that, and for your SPECIAL CANNON, you will see a special icon of it in a particular round, that is the ONLY time you can use that SPECIAL CANNON, when you see the icon. SPECIAL CANNONS use up a LOT of SP, and you will see the NEXT rounds turn options, so you will know this is coming. SOMETIMES you will see the NEXT round flipping, this means a SWASHBUCKLER situation is coming up, or rather a chance situation, you will often get a direct choice to "fall back" or "press the attack" doing so will result in one of the two flipping round selections. SOMETIMES you are not given a choice, and you must guess and act accordingly. CHARACTERS IN YOUR PARTY: you will almost always have Vyse, Aika, and Fina, and you will often have a fourth person in your party... VYSE: the main man, the swashbuckler, YOU, whatever ya wanna call him.... good attack, not so good magic S MOVES in order learned 1. CUTLASS FURY, damages ONE enemy, this is your bread and butter for a lot of the game, 7 SP 2. COUNTERSTRIKE, Vyse gets defensive, will counter any physical attack during ONE round, 1 SP 3. RAIN OF SWORDS, Vyse hits every enemy onscreen for very good damage, 14 SP 4. SKULL SHIELD, ALL ALLIES protected from physical damage and will counter, 5 SP! 5. PIRATES' WRATH, Vyse lays the smack down on one enemy, the endgame b&b, 21 SP AIKA: red headed chick, headstrong decent magic and attack S MOVES 1. ALPHA STORM, hits all enemies in a line/cone spread, 4 SP 2. DELTA SHIELD, protects ALL allies from ANY spell for one round, 2 SP! 3. LAMBDA BURST, hits all enemies onscreen with fair damage, 8 SP 4. EPSILON MIRROR, Aika restores 10 MP, 10 SP 5. OMEGA PSYCLONE, hits all enemies for really good damage, 12 SP FINA: mysterious chick, quiet excellent magic, not so good attack S MOVES 1. LUNAR BLESSING, ALL allies regenerate 200 HP per round, 12 SP 2. LUNAR GLYPH, damage and possibly stone(not the good kind) one enemy, 3 SP 3. LUNAR CLEANSING, cures ALL allies of anything except death, 6 SP (?) 4. LUNAR WINDS, attack and remove any beneficial effects from ALL enemies, 6 SP 5. LUNAR LIGHT, brings to life and cures ALL allies and restores ALL HP, 18 SP (?) DRACHMA: sailor, old dude powerhouse, not so good magic 1. TACKLE, hits one enemy for good damage, 10 SP 2. SPIRIT RESTORE, focus that gives double his normal focus SP, 0 SP!!! 3. HAND OF FATE, instant kill, or really good damage, 25 SP (thanks to ME for finding it first, thanks to 100 others for emailing me about this) GILDER: the MAN, my hero, your god (so I like him best, chill) uses a gun! that's what I'm sayin!! one hella good S Move too! 1. GUNSLINGER, whips out the power and hits enemies in a line/cone area, 9 SP 2. AURA OF DENIAL, THE S MOVE OF THE GAME!, for one round, it protects ALL ALLIES agianst ALL NEGATIVE STATUS CHANGES!!!! but ALLOWS POSITIVE STATUS CHANGES!!!! ETERNUM WILL NOT KILL YOU! INSTANT DEATH MOVES WILL NOT HIT YOU, THIS WORKS 100% OF THE TIME!!! (losing all HP still kills you, but that's not a big deal) this move lets you laugh at ALL encounters! even the bosses, all for..., 3 SP!!!!!!!!!! 3. THE CLAUDIA, Gilder's ship comes in and wails ALL enemies onscreen, 18 SP ENRIQUE prince of somewhere, he's cool all arounder, good spell learning 1. BLADE OF JUSTICE (?) hits one enemy for good damage, Enrique's cutlass fury, 8 SP 2. SHIELD OF JUSTICE (?) all physical attacks are reduced by 50% for one round, 4 SP (?) 3. THE JUDGEMENT, one enemy is judged, and then wailed possibly for full HP damage, 16 SP (?) ***************************************** NOW THE MAIN WALKTHRU::::::::::::::::::::::::; ***************************************** FIRST PART *yay* *RAID ON VALUAN SHIP! You'll start with a "not - so - random" battle with 2 soldiers, attack one at a time for best results you will then enter the ship! *TREASURES: Sacri Crystal 1, Sacri Crystal 2, 50 GOLD* Alfonso will talk some smack, run up to the door he goes thru, to the LEFT OF THE DOOR is the ALARM SWITCH, go up and press "A" to shut off the alarms, now gather the TREASURE, and then go thru the door. SAVE POINT room, open TREASURE for Magic Drop 2, go outside and down the ladder. BOSS ENCOUNTER: Antonio - YELLOW watch out for its THUNDER OF FURY attack, it hits in a line and does great damage! have Aike Focus, and have Vyse use Cutlass Fury as much as possible, and since the boss's moonstone power is YELLOW, be sure you are set to GREEN Once this battle ends, you will have some story cutscenes, enjoy! SB RANK! when discussing Fina's Name, the best response is: "Great Name" Now you have control of DYNE' S SHIP, and your mission is to fly HOME you will be aimed directly on the correct path as soon as it starts, so don't go spinning around wildly, head SOUTH (note: that tiny little island right in front of you has a DISCOVERY: press "A") *PIRATE ISLE!! You will begin in the underground PIRATE BASE, here you will find a WEAPON SHOP and an ITEM SHOP, on the third floor. DYNE' S ROOM is at the top, in a cabin looking structure, go in and talk to DYNE SB RANK! when DYNE is lecturing Fina, the best response is : "Stay Quiet" after talking, search the BOOKSHELF in DYNE'S ROOM, after a couple tries, it will open to a TREASURE: 150 GOLD now go around the catwalks and up to PIRATE ISLE SURFACE go into the TURNIP GARDEN, behind the house is a TREASURE: Sacri Crystal 3 go up the really TALL LADDER and get a TREASURE: Sacri Crystal 3 go up and search the GRAY STONE SQUARE to the left of DYNE'S HOUSE, you will be back underground for a TREASURE: Moonberry 1 go up to the SHIP DOCK and find a TREASURE: Magic Droplet 2 talk to the children: SB RANK! when the little kid asks if he can be a sailor the best answer is: "Yes" play HIDE N SEEK find the kids and Pow: behind Aika's house, Dyne's house LEFT, Dyne's house RIGHT, Granny's House RIGHT (behind hanging laundry) go to the left side of Aika's house and search the handkerchief hanging on the wall ;) go to DYNE'S HOUSE and pay attention go up the really TALL LADDER to watch the sunset.... *FIRST QUEST! SHRINE ISLAND! talk to DYNE for a PURPLE MOONSTONE! talk to Vyse's MOM for 2 Sacres Crystals! go to the boat dock on the SURFACE... FLY NORTH TO SHRINE ISLE, you can't miss it, it's an isle with a shrine on it! fly close, when the banner with the name appears, press "A" to land THE SHRINE run up and inside.... SB RANK! when asked how you should obtain the treasure, for best results, choose: "DRAIN" now, run around the circular path to the only door you can reach, go outside... Search the BIG CRYSTAL, then run to the right for a TREASURE: Sacri Crystal 2 now go back inside, notice those CIRCULAR TORCH holders, cross the line coming from one, and it will LIGHT UP, make sure to do this to ALL of them, run back around to the other door, and go thru follow the only available path, down a ladder, to the door, and open it do begin the draining... once inside this door, head LEFT to doorway in tiny hall, go outside and around the path for a TREASURE: Moonberry 1...return to inside and go to the RIGHT, make sure to light those torches!! go up and around to the next door, but grab that TREASURE: Sacri Crystal 2 before you go... down the ladder and to a door with a SAVE POINT in front, open and drain the door, and go in. BOSS ENCOUNTER: Sentinel - SILVER This one is easy, the first round and then every other round after, it will do a TARGET SEARCH that does ZERO DAMAGE, giving you a free turn for half the battle! watch out for the BLASTER ATTACK, it hits in a line/cone area and does fair damage just focus and use Cutlass Fury a lot. ENJOY the cutscene, if you can... *PIRATE ISLE PROBLEMS go into the PIRATE BASE (on the left, behind the house beside the turnip garden, search the rock wall) go to DYNE' S ROOM, talk to mom SB RANK! duh, it's your dad and your friends, for best results choose to "SAVE" them maybe upgrade armor or weapons, buy some healing items go back to SURFACE ship dock, talk to the kids, and the little girl... SB RANK!: when she asks for you to promise to return, for best results: "PROMISE TO RETURN" be the hero! get on the boat, and fly NORTH past SHRINE ISLE and slightly EAST, you should see a mountain with a tunnel at the bottom, soon you will be overcome by FOG SB RANK! it's big as an island, you only have a sword, for best results "RETREAT" from the monster you will wake up on a ship, and an old guy will be very angry with you to earn your ride, you must bring up TWO BOXES, go down ONE flight of stairs, and search the TWO BOXES that look alike, brown with gray trim...enjoy your labor Take the helm and go to SAILOR' S ISLE!! ahh cool!, it is NORTHEAST, you go under that tunnel, and then you can see it easily! time to land *SAILOR' S ISLE go to the back, and up the LIGHTHOUSE ladder, look for the window that has a RED BALLOON, and search it for a NOTE IN A BOTTLE go behind the big WHITE SIGN that is next to the SAILOR' S GUILD, in the corner is a TREASURE: Repair Kit 3 go to the upstairs of the INN, the room on the LEFT has a TREASURE: 200 GOLD go into the WEAPON shop to get PINTA's QUEST! (talk to the little chubby dude) go to the SHIP PARTS store, and talk with the owner: NOW you have info for Drachma! go to the TAVERN, and talk to Drachma SB RANK! he wants info, you want a ride, he's stubbor, so for best results: "BEAT AROUND THE BUSH" go into the SAILOR' S GUILD and talk to the owner SB RANK! you need the pass, don't be stupid, for best results: "ACCEPT" the offer finish prep, and leave town... Follow the DIRECTIONS, take the stone reef, and follow that, eventually, right before you get to Nasr you will face a... BOSS SHIP ENCOUNTER: Blackbeard, ship of Baltor the Black Pirate do what you feel is best, try to FOCUS with some, and attack during C! turns at the DECISION POINT, choose to "GO BEHIND" to get a round of all C! turns kick butt, and don't bother to rue anything hehe FINALLY you get to Nasr, and the merchant gives you the VALUAN PASSPORT head to VALUA, it is NORTHWEST of NASR, you will see a yellowish mountain zone with black clouds follow around the mountain, til you see a giant wall and floating guns... *VALUA LOWER CITY circle around the second level to get to the other side of the gate where you see a TREASURE: Sacres Crystal 2 roam around and talk to MARCO, then go to the GREEN CART, and flip the RED SWITCH, get on the cart and go to the other half of LOWER CITY, DO NOT GO TO THE INN YET search around until you find a few BARREL STACKS between two structures, you will come down a ladder, and then a few steps, and then you should see it, weave behind them, search the area and find a TREASURE: Moonberry 1 don't forget to check the WEAPON and ITEM shops, for upgrading now go back to the INN.... SB RANK! out of three choices, for best result: "SNEAK IN" for your rescue attempt CHASE!!!! gotta chase the spy!!! follow the YELLOW ARROWS, the first two sets of YELLOW ARROWS give you choices, if you take the far LEFT choice both times, you will get a TREASURE: Sacri Crystal 1 then follow the rest of the ARROWS til you catch the little dude...now you have a mission and a plan!!! *CATACOMBS! follow the only path until you find a split, go LEFT for TREASURES: Pyri Box 1 and Curia Crystal 3 go back to the path, and continue, run down the steps for TREASURES: Heavy Armor 1 and Assassin Blade 1 go back up the steps and take the turn for the rest of the path, to a SAVE POINT ****HINT**** you might wanna try PINTA's QUEST now, to get a few more healing items...the next battles are the toughest in the game, in my opinion...try to be around level 10 or so.... run up the steps for another BOSS ENCOUNTER: Bleigock - GREEN it has two special attacks that hit EVERYONE Poisonous Bile may also poison Frost Breath does ICE damage FOCUS or use Drachma's second Smove to build up SP then unleash Cutlass Furies or Tackles once you've won, go BACK AND SAVE and heal up, the real tough battle is up that ladder!! go up, and yet another BOSS ENCOUNTER: Executioner - YELLOW, 2 Spell Wardens - YELLOW BEWARE the Executioner's TACKLE, especially if one of the wizards casts INCREMA on him!! it does MASSIVE damage! and hits in a cone pattern, try to stay at full HP also, SONIC WAVE is a line attack that does ok damage the Spell Wardens will cast helpful spells, like healing and power up, as well as some offensive spells Aika's second Smove renders spells useless against your allies, so if you have that, it might be a good choice if you have Tackle and Cutlass Fury, however, you may want to cast Increma on one of those and try to kill the Executioner before he can TACKLE anyone, then mop up RESCUE FINA Go back to the SAVE POINT, talk to MARCO, go in the passageway.... TREASURES: Sacri Crystal 4 and Magic Droplet 4 talk to DYNE SB RANK! you're a hero, you like cute chicks, for best results: "RESCUE FINA" follow the only path up to UPPER VALUA, the old man on the bench asks you a question, just answer honestly, it doesn't seem to matter go up the bridge and see your target! time to ride the rail cars!!! run to the front, and don't run back towards Galcian... you will enounter pairs of PATROL GUARDS - YELLOW as the only enemies on the railcars get to Fina, and you will have yet another BOSS ENCOUNTER: 2 Royal Guards - YELLOW pain in the BUTT, these guys....one almost always gets into a COUNTERSTANCE they have healing and massive defense! try to build SP to max,, then unleash Cutlass Fury as much as you can! it'll take some time.... win and be rescued! yay! now you need to escape Valua, but to do that you need to fight.. BOSS SHIP ENCOUNTER: Valuan Ship just build up SP, it can't kill ya in one round, use the SPECIAL CANNON as soon as you can, and destroy the poor ship, make escape and go home! SB RANK! ABIRIK IN THE SKY in MIDDLE SKY, close to the top, close to a wind rift, near IXA TAKA, there is a ship, it will trade you ONE ABIRIK CHAM for 10 SARDI FISH, sardi fish can be found near pirate and sailor isle, just run into the mass of fish also, Pinta's Quest often turns up Sardi fish ABIRIK IN NASR at some point in the game, your party will be split up, with Vyse in one place and Aika in NASR go to the NASR ITEM SHOP, and talk to the man at the counter that is NOT the ITEM MERCHANT he will talk to you and give you an ABIRIK CHAM, if you do NOT speak to him during this time, you must wait until your ENTIRE party is back together, and then he will give you one... ABIRIK FOR A KABAL SKEWER after you complete the BLUE CRYSTAL scenario, go to ESPERANZA, and talk to the girl at the TAVERN, she will ask you to talk to a woman in MARAMBA, you will then be going between these two people several times, eventually you will be asked to find THREE ITEMS for a kabal skewer...ugh, this part is shady you need GENTUM, KABAL, and KHALE GENTUM: talk to the NASR ITEM MERCHANT, he will give you the GENTUM KABAL: in NORTH OCEAN, there is now a BISTRO, that is floating in mid sky, it is almost DIRECTLY WEST OF VALUA'S GRAND FORTRESS, and just a bit SOUTH, you'll see little gray islands on your map, it's around there. go and talk to the head of the BISTRO, and he'll give you KABAL meat KHALE: ARRGGH, the part that made me cheat! you must make the SPICE ISLE DISCOVERY ugh, go SOUTH OF YAFUTOMA until you see some floating WALLS, this is a DISCOVERY, good for you, now, look on your map, where you are is the wall discovery, and look at YAFUTOMA, now, fly to almost PERFECTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THESE TWO PLACES, now, begin flying WEST towards the DARK RIFT, eventually, in mid sky, you will see the Dark Rift, and then your COMPASS will go nutz, press "A" and you've discovered SPICE ISLE and recieved KHALE now, go back to the girl in the ESPERANZA tavern, and take the skewer to the other lady, and then return to the tavern to get the final ABIRIK CHAM!! ZIVILYN BANE: good for money in 8 places in the world you will see a treasure, when you try to get it, you will suddenly fight a guy out of the shining force 3 series (well kinda looks like a bandit...) when you beat him you get the treasure which is worth a lot of money, according to sega and some others, that is all you get from Z. HE STARTS AN ITEM SHOP increases ship attributes for a short while for 8 SP SAILOR: MARCO: found behind a control panel in your ship, you will find him, it's to the left of the wheel, when you are standing in front of the captain's chair for one round, he'll double SP for 8 SP (it's kinda like DRACHMA's S MOVE) ROBINSON: found in the DARK RIFT, make sure POLLY IS IN YOUR CREW, in the dark rift, one of the boats with lights on has ROBINSON in it instead of a treasure, POLLY will run in, and he'll join reduces SP use to 1/2 for a turn and for 8 SP (you must have full needed SP to initiate move, but then during the battle it only costs half) JESTER: POW: your dog on PIRATE ISLE, talk to him and the kids, he'll join will increase chance of first attack each round of one turn for 4 SP MERIDA: found in HORTEKA, go up to that tavern where she's dancing to find her, you need the NOTE FROM THE LIGHTHOUSE IN SAILOR'S ISLE, go to the lighthouse, and search the windows for this note in a bottle, also, pick up a cham when you're there (you can get the bottle way before you get a ship) increases ships value (don't know what that does, you don't sell your ship....)
