Imagine sitting at a campfire with a few of your pals, when all the sudden velociraptor like creatures come running in, followed by a gigantic a dragon landing in on your toasty fire. You grab your weapon and run in to attack, but instead you just put your weapon back and stand there.
Going into E3, I was pretty hyped about this game. Huge weapons, dragons, and coming up with funny
ways to try to capture them just sounded really cool to me. However, a very bad
control scheme has completely changed my opinion of this game. You use one
button to equip your weapon, a different button to unequip your weapon, and the
right analog stick to attack in the direction your character is facing. This
wouldn't be so bad if the unequip button is the same button I have used for
years to attack things with. So instead of running in and slashing the creature
to death, I run in and unequip my weapon and get slashed across the face.
Another thing I didn't like was the ability to attack the other players. When
the weapons are three times the size of you and everyone just runs in crazy
slashing everything, someone is bound to get hit by something and end up flying
across the screen and/or dying. Graphically though, the game is really
amazing looking. The backgrounds are probably the best I've seen in any video
game, and the amount of detail they put into the different types of armor is
superb. I'll probably still get the game, however I'll probably wait for awhile
after its release to do so.
