Roll them bones!

Happy Holidays from all of us here at RPGamer! This will be the last Saving Throw column of the year, so I want to make sure and remind everyone to submit their top five products for 2007 before the end of the year. One reader will walk away with a copy of Pathfinder - Volume 1: Rise of the Runelords - Chapter 1: Burnt Offerings for what amounts to five minutes of work. Not a bad trade off, if you ask me.

This week we have two reviews for your Holiday reading pleasure. Both products were recently released by Wizards of the Coast. The Rules Compendium is exactly like it sounds, as is Exemplars of Evil for the most part. Because both of these books feature things that crush the festive spirit, namely rules and evil, I figured now would be a perfect time to review them.

After lots of interesting shipping delays, I finally got Chapter 2 of the aforementioned Volume 1 of Pathfinder just last week, almost a month after it originally shipped. I am busily reading through it now, so look for a review of that next time and possibly some Green Ronin products from the not too distant past.

Some of you may remember when RPGamer's message boards hosted various Play-by-Post games. I am pleased to announce that those will be returning soon. Keep an eye on our Roleplaying Forum for future announcements.

This Week's Feature

All the rules in one place

Exemplars of Evil December 21st, 2007
When evil is not straight forward enough

Outro

Time sure flies. It seems like just yesterday I was getting ready for Christmas... 2005. And by the time you are reading this the first of the 4th Edition preview books will have already hit store shelves. I am hoping to get mine soon, but it has not shown up yet. Speaking of new books, every time I see the book Elder Evils I read it as "Elder Elvis". And I think Elvis was one of the top two worst things to happen to music last century. Oh well.

Again, if you have any suggestions, ideas, or other things you think might improve the column, just click on the email link below and send me an email.
