And where is your childhood hero to drive all the demons away?

The Start Starts... Now!

Well, it seems the great Nwash has moved on to greater things. Specifically, he now does important work like oiling the gears that help this great big machine work the way it does. However, his move has indeed created a great vacuum and I seem to have been pulled in. Again. Rob is back, and now I can count The Saving Throw in the list of many things I have done here, which is both kind of disturbing and interesting at the same time.

Those who are used to my columns will notice a few cosmetic changes here and there, but Nwash did such a great job I'm going to keep pretty much everything here intact as it is. However, this specific column will help me get to know you a bit better, so here's the update.

Oh, and send stuff in, because I'm not too sure everybody would be interested in hearing my bizarre roleplaying stories, for they tend to feature a lot of gore.

It's not my fault.

Seriously.

Paizo & Wizards of the Coast Ending Dragon and Dungeon License
Source: Paizo Publishing

Wizards of the Coast and Paizo, the publisher of both Dragon and Dungeon magazines have announced that the license for Paizo is ending after August. Wizards of the Coast will be moving the magazines to an online source instead of paper-format magazine.

September's issues of the magazines, Dungeon #150 and Dragon #359 will be the final issues and will be on newstands in August. For those readers who currently hold subscriptions to the magazines, Paizo has posted information on how the transition will occur.

However, all is not lost, as Paizo has also announced a new monthly release, Pathfinder, a softcover magazine that will contain an in-depth Adventure Path. These paths will span multiple volumes and will include detailed information, such as statistics for new monsters featured in the path.

Paizo's also intends to include a number of articles that can be used in tandem with the volume's main scenario as well as outside in a gamemaster's own campaign.

Rise of the Runelords, the first Pathfinder release, will be the beginning of a six-volume series, and will be released in August.

The End Ends...Now! No, that doesn't sound right.

Oh my, from the looks of it, there is a lot to catch up on. Curses! I knew it was a trap. Next week's update will no doubt contain a lot of releases, so be ready!

Curse you, Andrew Long!
