It's once again time for the Saving Throw. This week, we have two hall of fame stories from Seanerd, telling us of his unusual adventures being "unstuck in time" in the Star Wars universe. Carabbit, now a previewer for our site, returns to share an unusual chaotic magical item that no doubt brings an extraordinary element of entropy to her campaigns.
Also, remember to email me if you are interested in either gamemastering or roleplaying in #savingthrow. You can also pop in there anytime you want, though as a third shifter, I'm an extreme night owl and sleep most of the day away, but some other staff members are usually there as well.
Anyway, enough of me talking... it's time for the column.
Gaming Tip of the Week
"If at first you don't succeed, try again, and again, and again, and again, because you never know when the fifth time will be the charm."
A group of time-traveling adventurers wreck havoc as they visit different times in the Star Wars universe. In this adventure, they manage to win the Battle of Naboo before it even starts.
White Wolf Publishing has started posting a regularly updated preview of the Nights of Reckoning expansion, which is slated for a April 10 release. This expansion is to bring many new types of characters introduced in the World of Darkness setting to the Vampire: The Eternal Struggle TCG. The preview reveals a little more about the expansion each week; on March 15, the preview describes the "imbued," mortal allies of a vampire. More is to be revealed during the day today, and throughout the next three weeks until April 6.
2006 Territorial Open Championship Season Begins Soon
Decipher, Inc., the publishers of The Lord of the Rings TCG and Star Trek CCG (and an tabletop RPG for both settings as well, here and here respectively), is preparing to open its 2006 Territorial Open Championship Season on March 31. The season will continue until June 2. The top two finishers at each TOC earn a chance to attend day two of the World Championships. Interested players can use this Tournament Finder to find a nearby event, and there is also a listing of TOC events for The Lord of the Rings TCGhere and for the Star Trek CCGhere.
And so it ends. . .
Next week's column is still wide open for anyone wanting their submission to appear. Remember that funny, embarrassing, or disastrous hall of fame stories will earn you a coveted golden caret, and who doesn't want a golden caret?
The Saving Throw will return next Wednesday. Until then, may you only take half damage, and may your enemies always take the full amount.
