You ever wonder what's under the darkness?

And so it begins. . .

Ah, the Saving Throw returns again. This week, I bring you yet another contest entry, once again featuring part of the adventure my friends and I played not much more than a week ago. Other than that, it seems things are still fairly slow in the tabletop gaming world, but January may well be a slow month for the industry.

As that doesn't leave much to talk about, let's get on with the column...

Gaming Tip of the Week
"Beware of half-drow offering help."
- Nwash

Featured Hall of Fame Story

Lost in the Underdark by   Nwash New this week
The underdark is possibly one of the worst places to be lost, and one's situation doesn't usually improve much when a half-drow offers to help.

Finding the Color of Greed in Full Metal Alchemist
Source: GamingReport.com

Beginning on January 15th and ending on April 1st, tournament organizers for the Full Metal Alchemist TCG will be able to designate their tournaments as "Color of Greed" events. Though these tournaments will run no differently than other FMA TCG events, the organizer will report the faction of the winner to colorofgreed@presspassinc.com. In April, the results will be tallied, and the new Greed card will appear in a future expansion with the colors of the winning faction: Elric, Homunculus, Military, or Rebel. The Color of Greed prize kit will also contain two copies of Alphonse Elric, Light on His Feet, a promotional card that has only been available in limited quantities.

Steve Jackson Games Looking for Soft Brains
Source: Steve Jackson Games

Last July, the Omniscient Eye, a feature where gamers could ask real-world questions to be answered by real world professionals, returned to Steve Jackson Games' Pyramid online magazine. They asked for professionals who might be interested in occasionally answering questions posed by readers, and while they have volunteers covering many of the "hard" subjects such as math, physical sciences, medicine, and computers, they are looking for more volunteers from "softer" subjects such as law, government, business, social sciences, and humanities. Anyone qualified for or employed in this area willing to answer the occasional question is asked to send their name, email address, and a brief summary of their expertise to iron.llama@gmail.com.

And so it ends. . .

That wraps one yet another one. I'll see you next week. Until then, good luck on your saving throws.
