Take your players to the world of Dragonlance with the Dragonlance Campaign Setting. This
book provides all you need to get started in the classic fantasy setting.
The book contains a brief introduction to get Game Masters up to speed with the history and peoples of the world of Krynn, as
well as some tips about campaigns set there. After that, the cream of the setting quickly rises to the surface. The first
chapter covers races, and provides everything needed to create characters of the Kender, Draconians, Centaur, or Ogre races, as
well as the classic races. It also provides information on the different clans on several of the classic races, such as the
Elves and Dwarves.
Another important chapter is the chapter on classes and feats, which shows a lot of the differences between the Dragonlance
and other campaign settings, especially with the prestige classes. The chapters on magic and deities also demonstrate a lot of the
differences and flavor of the the setting.
No setting is complete of course, without chapters on the geography and creatures of the setting, and the Dragonlance Campaign
Setting provides an excellent one. In fact, these might be the best parts of the book. The nations and regions are presented
in detail, and twenty pages of creatures will provide plenty to use in this setting and others as well.
With the name of Dragonlance one would expect dragons, and of course, there are dragons. Lots of dragons. With the
dragons is a section on aerial combat, which would be useful in lots of settings.
With all the history of Dragonlance, this edition of the campaign setting just falls a bit short of capturing the glory
and excitement of the world of Krynn. It is good enough, but not as good as one would expect with Dragonlance.
