[07/09/00] - Sill very few reviews coming into the box (the ones here today came in yesterday and the 7th), though hope seems to spring eternal: I have heard word on at least 4 reviews coming into my possession in the next 2 weeks, including some very interesting staff ones, so keep watching. I'll keep my fingers and toes crosses too! Still waiting on my birthday...but good news. I found out I'm getting Vanguard Bandits for my fete! Yay! =^^=
FORMAT CHANGE! RPGamer staff has moved to a new reviewers format! Beforehand, all of the staffers (with a few exceptions), were writing reviews and retroviews. This format just wasn't working, and the reader weren't able to pick their favorite reviewer :) So now we've limited ourself to 5 reviewers. They are:
Mikel Tidwell (Past Reviews include Alundra and Vanguard Bandits)
Jake Alley (Past Reviews include Koudelka and Front Mission 3)
Jeff Davis (Past Reviews include Legend of Dragoon and Grandia)
Andrew P. Bilyk (Past Reviews include Legend of Mana)
Anna Marie Whitehead (Past Reviews include Time Stalkers and SaGa Frontier 2)
Hopefully this small change will help you, the readers, get a better perspective on games, as well as motivate you to write your own reviews! :)
With this new change also comes a slightly different format in posted staff reviews. No longer are we limited to one staff review per game. In fact, under the most ideal circumstances, we could have 5 views on one game, though it seems unlikely at this point in time. But, with an estimated perspectives per game, there's no point in placing them *all* on index. So, the first staff review of any game will be posted to index and Points of View. Additional reviews after that can only be found by checking into Points of View and on the individual games pages. So, if you'd like to keep track of one reviewer or another or just read our different opinions, stop by each update to see what's new! =^^=
Review Writing BooBoos
A Man of Few Words?
There is most certainly such thing as a review that is too short. I have been getting at least one or two per update where there is simply not enough info for a postable review. Generally these reviews also don't follow the RPGamer structure. Please, *please*, before submitting, take a look at the Review Template and past reviews for good sources on what and how much to write :)
