This week's title is pretty simple and very common. In the last few days, we have had some excellent thunderstorms. Since I have the free time, I've been going out on my balcony and reading in the storms since they seem to pass around 4pm, and it's still pretty bright. Sometimes there really isn't anything cooler than having lightning hitting the tall transmission towers up on the bluff near my apartment, and having the shockwave from it making me feel like my chest has collapsed. I love thunderstorms.
However, on Thursday, I was sitting outside enjoying the storm that swept across most of central North America, when I heard this creepy jingle. I thought at first it was a cellphone ringing, as my neighbour had just parked just below my balcony and he is known for his excessively irritating ringtones (however I believe my Dalek 'EXTERMINATE' ringtone is even more so.) Shortly after, I discovered it was not, because he glanced up at me with a look of bewilderment. The creepy music was getting louder, and people both in my apartment building and the one on the other side of the parking lot began coming out onto their balconies, and we started yelling back and forth about what was causing the racket. We learned very quickly what it was, as an ice cream truck slowly drove by moments later. I am truly distraught over this, days later, because I honestly do not see how anybody could think a creepy song like the one they were playing could in any way suggest they were selling ice cold treats to children.
What is the moral of the story? Perhaps that if you someday decide to work on an ice cream truck, you shouldn't play disturbing circus music. Unless of course, you are Pennywise. Wait a minute. Pennywise was played by Tim Curry? I didn't know that!

The long-awaited Persona 3 has finally been released to much rejoicing, so with absolutely no surprise it strikes with a healthy second-place spot. Sadly for everybody else, every title gets pushed down. Such is the life of a software title. A bit surprising, however, is Xenosaga Episode III's ten point drop into twelfth place. Square-Enix's Children of Mana is one of only two titles this week that has actually improved, having gotten out of 62nd place and back onto the Top 50.

Another Naruto RPG has appeared over the horizon, just like... well... a ninja. Nintendo Dream recently showed off the game in their pages, so here is what you may have missed. It was released a few weeks ago and as you can see by the Dengeki chart, is selling. I love ninjas. I would never do anything to upset them. Seriously. Go look at the shiny stuff.

On July 13th, Hudson released a remake of the Sega Saturn game "Tengai Makyo: Daiyon no Dajiroku." Originally released in 1997, the game is the one Tengai Makyo title that is set outside of Jipangu, where most Tengai games take place. This new remake will feature a number of new characters and scenarios, new cutscenes and an overhaul of the story. Hudson is calling this remake the "Complete Edition," which retails for the usual PSP price of 5040 yen.

Bandai-Namco has announced that they will be releasing two drama CDs for their PS2 game, "Tales of Legendia." Named "Tales of Legendia: Voice of Character Quest," the discs will present a story that takes place after the end of the game, as they embark on another quest, this time to determine why a strange structure has appeared near a town.
A bonus DVD will also be included which features voice actor interviews. Each disc is nearly an hour long, the first drama CD will be released August 23rd, and the second on September 27th. Both discs will priced at 3150 yen.

Tingle likes rupees. Do you like rupees? I like rupees. I also like screenshots for Tingle RPG, which is aptly named "Tingle's Rosey Rupee Land", so here is a pretty hefty collection primarily because I felt like it. So, do you like rupees? Tell me you like rupees.

Project EGG has announced a remake of "Hydlide 3," a 16-bit game that was originally for the PC. The remake will include updated graphics and music and add new maps and bosses as well. The game will still be for the PC, and will cost players 735 yen to download it.

Well, that is it for this week. I am starting a new job this week which will turn my sleep schedule on its head, but for the first month or so it won't affect this column at all. We'll see when I get out of training. Again, if you have ideas for anything extra I can add, I would be more than happy to receive suggestions. Until next week... man this toast is terrible. I think I'm going to reprimand my partner for putting the loaf of bread beside the head of lettuce.
