Developer Pixelated Milk released a new trailer for its upcoming console release of Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs. Dubbed Regalia: Royal Edition, the game is planned for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in early 2018. However, as detailed in a new Kickstarter update, the game will not be releasing on PlayStation Vita as initially planned. Backers who requested a Vita version have the option to switch to the PC, Mac, or Linux version (with a $10 partial refund) or to one of the three console versions by private messaging the developer through Kickstarter by January 31, 2018.
The developer also revealed that content initially targeted but not included in the original release, will be released as two DLC packs in early 2018 and be available for free to all Kickstarter backers. The first pack, The Unending Grimoire, includes new recruitable villager Bassanius the Mystic, a new constructable Mystic's Tower building, visual character customisation, new voiced cutscenes, and a new challenge mode called the Grimoire. The second pack, Paragons and Pajamas, adds two new recruitable party members — Quinn the Protector and dual-character Yusuf & Berius — as well as two diplomacy factions, missives, items, and voiced cutscenes.
Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs casts players as Kay of House Loren, and tasks them with building up Kay's estate and reputation from its current tattered state. The humourous tactical RPG was originally released earlier in 2017 for PC, Mac, and Linux.
