Bandai Namco has released a new round of images for its upcoming action RPG Code Vein. The screenshots feature a new character, new abilities, and a new location. The update also includes the first images from the game's animated opening from Ufotable.

Nicola Karnstein is the little brother of Mia, one of the game's protagonists. The two travel together, protecting each other through different areas. One of these areas is Ridge of Frozen Souls, a harrowing mountain pass that is also home to a powerful armored enemy. During combat, players will make use of Blood Veils to activate powerful abilities and regain Ichor, a substance used to fuel further attacks. One of these is the Blood Ivy Veil, which launches a series of thorns that hit enemies from afar. Another customizable element for players will be their Blood Code, a equipped bonus that changes based on the character who has it equipped.

Code Vein will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide in 2018.
