Kadokawa Games recently provided more details and media for the upcoming Metal Max Xeno. The new information introduces three new characters — Po-M, D'Annunzio, and Jingorou — while the screenshots show various locations, tanks, and enemies in the game. The company also revealed that the game will feature areas where players will venture into without their vehicles.
Po-M is a female-type android who is used for testing purposes. She provides advice to main character Talis via holographic projection. D'Annunzio is a former soldier, however, at the Iron Bar he mans the counter at a bar. Finally, Jingorou is part of the maintenance crew and is regarded as one of the best in the world at maintaining tanks.
Although set in the same post-apocalyptic world as the previous games in the series, Metal Max Xeno marks a bit of a refresh, taking place in a different time and location with some adjustments made to its history. Metal Max Xeno is being developed for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita with a Japanese release planned for spring 2018. No announcement has been made regarding a western release.
