Compile Heart provided new details for the upcoming Death end re;Quest, detailing the portions of the game where players interact with the near-future real world. The real world parts of the game follow Arata Mizunashi as he investigates mysteries in the fictional VRMMORPG World's Odyssey, where his colleague Shina Ninomiya is trapped. Arata communicates with Shina and her allies using the Enigma-kun mascot, who appears in World's Odyssey as an administrative tool.
The real-world parts appear as a computer UI, with players instructing Arata to talk to nearby characters, examine objects, check various effects influencing World's Odyssey, and move to a different location in Sagami City. Visiting certain locations and solving mysteries will trigger events that further progress the game.
Death end re;Quest is set to be released in Japan for PlayStation 4 on March 1, 2018. No announcement has been made regarding a western release.
