Aquaplus released the first images and trailer for its recently-announced remake of the first Utawarerumono title, along with some more information about the game and release. Utawarerumono: Chiriyuku Mono he no Komoriuta offers various enhancements to the previous PC and PlayStation 2 versions, including changing all the illustrations, backgrounds, and character art to HD; converting all the simulation sections (such as maps, character models) from 2D to 3D; rearranging the soundtrack; and adding various combat features from sequels Utawaruremono: Mask of Deception and Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth.
The main character of Utawarerumono is Hakuoro. He is found outside the village of Yamayura by a girl (and trainee doctor) named Eruruu, who nurses him back to health. Hakuoro has no memory of his past, constantly wears a mask, and, unlike the other members of village, doesn't sport animal eas or a tail. Other important characters include Eruruu's younger sister Aruruu, who easily bonds with animals; Oboro, a chivalrous thief; and Oboro's younger sister Yuzuhu, who has a weak constitution and hasn't seen much of the outside world.
Utawarerumono: Chiriyuku Mono he no Komoriuta is set to be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on April 26, 2018. No announcement has been made regarding a western release.
