Koei Tecmo released a new batch of details and media for its upcoming release of Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers in North America and Europe. The update focuses on the strategic gameplay of the title, showcasing it with the help of a large number of screenshots and a new trailer.

A tactical RPG spin-off to the Dynasty Warriors series, Godseekers used a grid-based combat field. Players face off against opposing forces, moving their characters before attacking or defending. Attacks from the rear or side deal significantly more damage, and after players have defeated enemy units they may be able to activate Synchro Mode, which allows powerful, devastating moves.

The game features companion characters such as Lixia. She has powers that have been sealed away in orbs. These orbs can swing the tide of battle, giving players the opportunity to engulf the battlefield in flames or flood strongholds. Players gain access to more orbs, each with unique effects, as the story progresses.

Like the main series, Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers takes place during the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history. Outside of combat players partake in conversations with other officers. During the game, players can also unlock special Path of Destiny episodes. These offer new unique battles and additional companions, as well as item and monetary bonuses.

Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers is set to be released digitally for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in North America on January 31, 2017 and in Europe on February 1, 2017. Those who buy the game during its first month on sale will receive a selection of additional costumes free of charge.
