Ys Net has updated its site regarding the ongoing development of Shenmue III. Along with a work-in-progress visual update, the PC version of the game can now be pre-ordered alongside the PlayStation 4 version, which costs $29 for a digital copy. Current backers and new pledges alike will be able to decide their platform of choice when the BackerKit releases sometime in the summer of 2017. Pre-ordering the PC version now will also contribute towards the game's stretch goals.

Development is beginning to shift toward production proper. Most of the game's main scenarios have been completed, voice tests have begun with the main actors, and motion capture is currently being worked on. Shenmue III is set to release during the holiday period of 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
