The playable demo for PlatinumGames and Square Enix's NieR: Automata, announced at this year's PlayStation Experience, has now been given a release date. On December 22, 2016, PlayStation 4 owners will have a chance to play through a stage of the game that follows 2B, the game's android protagonist, through an abandoned factory to find and destroy a massive weapon.

NieR: Automata is set to release on PlayStation 4 in North America on March 7, 2017, and in Europe on March 10, 2017. PlayStation 4 Pro modes will also be supported.  The game is also planned for release on PC via Steam at some point during 2017.
