The Old Hunters, the expansion for Sony and From Software's action RPG Bloodborne, is out today in North America and Europe at a price of $19.99/£15.99/€19.99. Sony recently put out details on how to access the new content contained in The Old Hunters once it has been downloaded and installed, along with a new batch of screenshots featuring some enemies and equipment options for players.
To access the new content, players must first defeat the boss of the Cathedral Ward area and change the in-game time to night by using the altar in the back of the room. They must then receive the Eye of a Blood-Drunk Hunter from a messenger in the Hunter's Dream. Following that, they need to go to Oedon Chapel and leave via the left-hand exit to the square. At the right end of the square, an event will trigger and take players to a new area called the Hunter's Nightmare. If players light the lamp in this new area they will be able to easily travel to and from it through an Awakening Headstone in the Hunter's Dream. The set of screenshots directly below shows the steps detailed above.
In preparation for the expansion, the game was recently updated to version 1.07. In addition to laying some preparation work, this particular update adds in the new League feature plus new NPCs. Players align themselves with The League by memorising the new Impurity rune, giving them access to online leaderboards. By assisting others via co-op, players earn points that lets them rise up the leaderboard. The League's cane also gives players the opportunity to summon up to two NPCs to assist them in battle, including in Chalice Dungeons.
