Nier 2, which was revealed back at this year's E3, has been newly revealed to the public at the Paris Games Week under its final name, NieR: Automata. As its title may indicate, NieR: Automata's story centers around a battle between robots. The main protagonist is a female android named YoRHa Number 2, Model B. She was created by humans who were forced to flee to the Moon after an army of machines conquered Earth, and engages in constant battle against the machines on the devastated planet.

It was announced previously that PlatinumGames would be working on Nier: Automata and the results of that collaboration can now be seen in its first full gameplay trailer, which can be seen below. The large bullet swarms from the original Nier have returned alongside fast-paced melee combat reminiscent of PlatinumGames' previous works.
