Without much forewarning, Square Enix has made Final Fantasy IV available on the iOS App Store. iOS device owners in North America and Europe can purchase the game for $15.99, £10.99, or €14.49. In a similar vein to the iOS release of Final Fantasy III, this new version of Final Fantasy IV will be based on the DS remake of the game, which features significantly altered gameplay and presentation from the original SNES version.

A trailer has also been released to advertise the new release, which mostly shows some cutscenes and gameplay featuring the game's new interface and touch controls. One of the most noteworthy elements of the trailer, however, comes at the very end, in which it hints that a mobile release for Final Fantasy V may be on its way.
