Some information on the battle system for Arc Rise Fantasia, the Wii RPG from Marvelous Entertainment and XSEED Games, has been unveiled. Players can choose up to three characters to battle at one time, much like in Xenogears or Chrono Cross. If the player continues to use these same party members, a bond will be built between them. Stronger bonds will add visual effects to characters during combat.

Arc Rise Fantasia also uses a combo system. "Single connect" combos are used by single characters, while "party connect" combos are used by two characters. There is also a special attack that all three characters can unleash in battle. This attack is called "Excel Act" and causes a "Trinity Act" attack that can damage an enemy for large amounts of damage.
