RPG fans everywhere can rejoice with the following news. Secret of Mana is now available on Nintendo's Virtual Console for 800 Wii points. The game was originally released in North America in 1993 and often ranks among RPGamers' favorite games.
Secret of Mana is an action role-playing game and allows up to three players to take part in the real-time combat. The game was developed by Squaresoft, now Square Enix, breaking away from the turn-based battles of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. It employed a combat mechanic much like the Zelda series, but added the statistical element of the RPG genre and a unique ring system.
The game was the first introduction for many players to the Mana series. Gamers instantaneously fell in love with the bright and colorful art style and epic musical score composed by Hiroki Kikuta.
