Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

Yesterday, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings for the Nintendo DS shipped to retailers all across North America. The game continues the saga of the PlayStation 2 smash hit Final Fantasy XII and is also the latest entry into Square Enix's Ivalice Alliance series.

"We are extremely excited to see Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings make its debut in North America," said director Motomu Toriyama. "We adjusted the overall difficulty level of the game for the North American market and introduced a new dungeon and a new boss from Final Fantasy XII. We believe that the US consumers will find the changes very challenging and entertaining."

The game takes place one year after the events of Final Fantasy XII with Vaan and Penelo traveling to the sky continent of Lemurés. They meet Llyud, a member of the Aegyl race--a race of winged people who's history is shrouded in mystery. The Aegyl are threatened to lose their lands as some sort of disturbance allows more and more outsiders into their hidden realm. The Aegyl, now in a dire situation, depend on Vaan and his sky pirates to defend them from a growing number of ill-willed, treasure-seeking trespassers.

The game features full touch screen functionality, using the stylus for controlling massive armies, pulling off special moves, and activating gambits. Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings is rated E10+ and is available at retailers for the suggested retail price of US$39.99.
