Interchannel-Holon announced that they are remaking the RPG classics Ys I and Ys II for the Nintendo DS. Known as Nihon Falcom’s flagship series, Ys was originally released on the PC and started in 1987. It has since seen several incarnations spanning various home consoles and handheld systems.
All new boss fights and multiplayer modes have been added to enhance the gaming experience where up to four players can compete using the DS’s integrated wi-fi capabilities. Other new features include all new character animations, new maps, a jukebox, and even new enemies to encounter in the world of Esteria.
Ys and Ys II are slated for release in Spring of 2008. Both games will be sold separately for 5040 yen.
