Play! A Video Game Symphony

JMP Productions, the company responsible for the acclaimed Final Fantasy concerts Dear Friends and More Friends, has announced another upcoming concert series called Play! A Video Game Symphony. The program will feature a wide variety of orchestral arrangements from titles such as World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and the Final Fantasy series. Tour organizers Jason Michael Paul and Thomas Boecker also mentioned to 1UP.com that composer Yasunori Mitsuda is arranging music for the program as well, although they did not mention which of Mitsuda's compositions would be included. Like the Dear Friends and More Friends productions, Play! will feature large screens showing game footage to accompany the music. Arnie Roth, music director and principal conductor of the Chicagoland Pops and veteran of the Final Fantasy concert series, will take up the baton again to lead the orchestra.

Play! A Video Game Symphony is slated to begin in North America in April 2006 with a world tour to follow. RPGamer will provide a full concert schedule once it becomes available, and interested readers may wish to check out the tour's official website in the meantime.
