Final Fantasy XI

Square Enix has announced its intentions to patch Final Fantasy XI on December 16. This update comes just in time for winter festivities, and that is just what it will introduce to the world of Vana'diel.

Players logging on after Square Enix's application of the patch will find themselves in the middle of "Holy Night in Vana'diel." It is not known how much the patch will transform the world of Final Fantasy XI, but special holiday-themed quests will probably become available, and Moogles are reported to play a significant role in decorating the cities of San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst.

The PC version of Final Fantasy XI was released in North America this past October, and it has already reached 450,000 users. The PlayStation 2 version will see a North American release next spring.
