Sega recently made two significant announcements. One was that its popular title, Phantasy Star Online, reached 600,000 registered users as of November 1. The other announcement was that the third installment of the online series, Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution, is nearing its Japanese release date. Sega has scheduled the game to arrive in stores later this week on November 27.
Phantasy Star Online was released for the now-obsolete Dreamcast in 2001; subsequent releases for the GameCube, PC, and Xbox followed in 2002 and 2003. Servers for the Dreamcast version closed approximately two months ago, but versions for the next generation consoles are obviously still going strong.
