Nintendo Throws Up Detour On Memory Lane

The upcoming Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker has everyone drooling in both Japan and North America, but Nintendo has taken time out from the salivatory festival to warn against a third party memory card which will cause gamers problems. The Mach Memory 1090 is incompatible with The Legend of Zelda, and will spawn error messages rather than save files when gamers attempt to save. As a result, Nintendo is recommending gamers use a GameCube memory card with 251 or fewer blocks of memory when saving files for the game.

No mention was made as to what exactly causes the problem, or why the lower-capacity memory cards would work. The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker just came out in Japan, and is set for North American release in March 2003.
