Enix's PSone remake of Dragon Quest IV, its classic NES RPG, is the leader in Japanese sales for the week of November 19-25. It sold over 630,000 units since its November 22 release to beat out Nintendo's hot new GameCube title, Super Smash Bros. Melee, which is second in sales for that week.

The PSone remake edition of Dragon Quest IV bears marked improvements in terms of its visuals, music and gameplay. A 2002 North American release is confirmed, though nothing more specific has been announced as of this time. RPGamer will report as soon as more information becomes available.
