Dragon Warrior 7's release is but a few weeks away now, and Enix is ringing in the North American return of one of the granddaddies of RPGs by releasing new info every week until the game hits stores on the 1st of November.
Last week's update saw an exhaustive exposition of the character classes contained within the game, which is shown below for your viewing pleasure. Twenty classes are available, in categories as diverse as Shepherd and Teen Idol to staples like Hero and Mage, and the ability to combine classes makes for a nigh-infinite number of possible combinations.
Player's wishing to get into the minds of monsters can look forward to DW7's Monster Classes, which are gained by collecting Monster Hearts. These Monster Classes will allow the player to "feel what a monster feels" and acquire monster-related spells and skills.
The latest update delves into the nitty-gritty of the party-chat system. Basically, instead of your party members following you around like a bunch of ducklings, you can talk to each of them at any stage. By doing this, Enix is hoping to avoid the I'm-lost-and-I-don't-know-where-to-go syndrome that RPGs suffer. The feature will allow the player speak to anyone in the party at any time to ascertain their feelings to recent events.
Enix is confident that the party-chat system will further character development and unfolding of the story. Talking to the party will also serve as a sort of in-game help feature, whereby characters will tell the player what an item does, or give an assessment of monster's being faced.
Check back in with us next week when Enix releases the next batch of information.
