Pool of Radiance Delayed Due to Buyout

PC RPG fans looking forward to the upcoming AD&D RPG, Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor, will have to wait a little longer. Recently, The Learning Company was acquired by Gores Technology Group. As Pool of Radiance developer SSI is one of the many software companies owned by The Learning Company, the buyout affects the development of Pool of Radiance as well. Originally scheduled for release this holiday season, Pool of Radiance is now scheduled for release sometime in spring 2001. Cited as reasons for the delay were numerous company changes resulting from the buyout, including the search for a new name that is more appropriate to The Learning Company, with its many varied software divisions.

Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor is a spectacular-looking new RPG from longtime AD&D developers, SSI. Fans of PC RPGs such as Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment should definitely look into this one.
