From Software's King's Field IV, announced in the middle of last month, has already had some story information released. The game is reportedly set in a cold mountainous area, where the main character, Xion Roseberg, was left as a volcano erupted. The story begins when Xion finds an old kingdom underground.

Though the producer of King's Field IV earlier announced that the game would be similar to the other games in the series, it remains to be seen how closely the game will follow its predecessors. King's Field IV will definitely share the first-person interface and realtime battles of the previous games, and is currently about ten percent completed. It should be available in Japan in Spring 2001.
