FGNOnline.com is reporting that retail outlets such as Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Babbage's, and Electronics Boutique have been informed not to expect any more PlayStation2 shipments anytime soon. Already, the PS2 is in extremely short supply all over the country, with actual PS2 consoles, for the most part, nowhere to be found.

This new article suggests that most retail locations may not be receiving any more PS2 units until after the Christmas holidays. Cited as reasons for the continuing shortage were large amounts of defective PS2 units, as well as theft of PS2s during shipping.
