New information on the much anticipated computer-generated film by Square Pictures, the Final Fantasy Movie, has been sparse at best. Word has recently leaked out that the movie will be given a subtitle, and will now be known as, "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within." Though this title has not yet been confirmed by Square Pictures, they are expected to make an announcement soon.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within contains revolutionary computer generation techniques, making the actors look extremely lifelike. The trailers also show an interesting mix of science fiction and fantasy elements. The movie is currently scheduled to be released on July 20, 2001, but may be pushed forward a week to July 13, due to competition from other major sci-fi movies including Jurassic Park 3 and Planet of the Apes, also scheduled for the 20th.
