Mysterious Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 2 Released in Japan

Chunsoft, who has spent the last three years working on their Mysterious Dungeon project, has finally shipped the finished product. While anticipation for the title ran high, the extended development bled off some of the enthusiasm, and only time will tell whether the extra lead time was frugal or foolish.

Mysterious Dungeon isn't currently expected to traverse the Pacific, and the volume of text makes it a recommended import only for those who read Japanese literately. The story follows a youth named Shiren and his squirrel friend Koppa as they attempt to save their home village from demons. Although this premise sounds like something intended for younger crowds, Chunsoft asserts Mysterious Dungeon is meant for older gamers.
