Baldur's Gate Sequel Announced
Baldur's Gate II

Baldur's Gate, the highly-acclaimed RPG from Bioware, has had numerous spinoffs developed by Black Isle studios, but Bioware has not yet produced a "true" sequel. Now however, they have announced that sequel, entitled Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn.

The game uses an improved version of the engine used for the original Baldur's Gate, adding 3D enhancements and many other minor changes. The storyline is purported to be more complex than the original, and there will be over 100 side quests for the adventurer to take part in. Bioware anticipates over 100 hours of gameplay for this large title.

Players of the original game will be happy to know that they can import their characters from it, with the new experience cap being 2,950,000 XP. More information about the new sequel or information about the old game can be found at Bioware's Baldur's Gate II website.
