Bandai Namco announced that .hack//G.U. Last Recode, the remaster of the PlayStation 2 .hack//G.U. trilogy, will be released for PlayStation 4 and PC in Japan on November 1, 2017. The game will also be released in North America and Europe later this year, though no exact date has been given.

The company also revealed details about a new fourth episode in the game, following the first three parts of the trilogy: Vol. 1: Rebirth, Vol. 2: Reminisce, and Vol 3: Redemption. The new episode sees Haseo returning to the MMORPG The World R:2 to save his friend Ovan before it ends service. In addition to the new story, the extra episode will also include a new fifth form for Haseo as well as new characters and dungeons.
