Capcom has released a deluge of videos for its various weapon classes that will appear in Monster Hunter: World. Fourteen different types of weapons will be available, from standard greatswords and hammers to the more specialized charge blade and insect glaives. Additionally, three narrated videos give more depth into the different weapons.
In Monster Hunter: World, different weapons will have certain advantages over others in certain scenarios. Swords have higher slashing damage and general rate of attacks, while hammers and other impact weapons have higher base damage and stun potential. Weapons will be able to be switched out mid-mission at the base camp, allowing players to adapt to situations when the current plan isn't working.
Set to release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in early 2018, Monster Hunter: World marks the return to the series on home consoles. A PC version of the game is also planned for a release after the console versions.
