Square Enix announced the release date for developer Tokyo RPG Factory's second title, Lost Sphear. The game will be released in Japan on October 12, 2017, before coming to North America and Europe on January 23, 2018, for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Digital pre-orders are open for the PlayStation 4 and PC versions, while physical editions for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch can be pre-ordered exclusively from Square Enix's online store.
Like Tokyo RPG Factory's debut title I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear looks to harken back to classic JRPGs. The game follows a young boy, Kanata, who wakes up from a dark dream to find his remote hometown and other parts of the world disappearing into mist. He joins forces with others in an attempt to rebuild the world using the power of Memory. In addition to the release date, Square Enix also provided a new Japanese trailer and some new screenshots.
