At the Tokyo Game Show 2016, Sega released an extended trailer for the upcoming tile-matching/RPG hybrid, Puyo Puyo Chronicle. The series' gameplay consists of two players going head-to-head, matching four or more same-colored tiles to clog their opponents' puzzle grid and come out on top. Now, however, this mechanic is encapsulated within a full-fledged RPG, following main character Arle and her companion Carbuncle as they try to return to their world. The new trailer shows off even more of the title's gameplay, featuring both the matching and role-playing sections.

Sega has planned for a December 8, 2016 release in Japan, while no plans have been announced yet to bring the game to other markets. Puyo Puyo Chronicle will be a 3DS exclusive.
