Nintendo has two new trailers for Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. The first of these trailers is a general overview of the game, while the other takes a deeper look at the Monster Meadows.

The Monster Meadows are locations where tamed monsters can live. The area can be reached by a portal through The Haven, but first some of the monsters will have to be tamed. Taming monsters in Dragon Quest VII requires carrying Monster Munchies while battling enemy monsters, which have a chance of being tamed after being defeated. After having been tamed, the player will be able to build habitats for the monsters using blueprints found throughout the game. Groups of friendly monsters will also be able to adventure through nearby caves to find Traveller's Tablets, which generate random dungeons that can be shared with other players via StreetPass.

Dragon Quest VII is a remake of a title originally released on the PlayStation in 2000. The game will be available on 3DS on September 16, 2016, in both North America and Europe.
