Harebrained Schemes' roguelike action RPG Necropolis has received an substantial update. Dubbed the "Brutal Edition", the new update adds in a new playable class, the Brute; a new outdoor environment, the Black Forest; new enemy types; additional traps and level variety; numerous new items; and improved AI. A new trailer has been put together to show off these new features in action.

Necropolis: Brutal Edition is a free update for those who have already purchased the game and has become the standard version of the game to purchase. The game is currently available on Steam and for the update the game has been given a temporary discount on Steam from $29.99/£22.99/€27.99 to $23.99/£18.39/€22.99 until September 13, 2016. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game are still planned for sometime later in 2016.
