Japanese developer and publisher Cygames held its Cygames Next 2016 event this weekend in Tokyo, using it to announce a series of new projects, many involving its popular Granblue Fantasy title. Released in Japan in 2014, Granblue Fantasy is a turn-based RPG for iOS and Android with summons and a class system, with music from Nobuo Uematsu and Tsumotu Narita and character designs from Hideo Minaba.

Cygames will be teaming up with developer PlatinumGames to release a new action RPG based on the game, titled Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link. This new title will also feature character designs from Hideo Minaba and music from Nobuo Uematsu and Tsumotu Narita. It will have an emphasis on multiplayer, but there will also be a single-player scenario mode. The game is still in the early stages of development, with no release period or platforms announced, though producer Koichi Haruta indicated the game could be coming to PC.

Granblue Fantasy will also be getting an animated adaptation. Granblue Fantasy: The Animation will begin airing in Japan in January 2017, with A-1 Pictures serving as the production company. Its first trailer is on YouTube, but is not available to view in countries outside of Japan.

Cygames also announced another joint project with PlatinumGames, this one a real-time strategy title for iOS and Android. Lost Order is directed by Yasumi Matsuno, with Akihiko Yoshida handling the art direction and the music being composed by Hideki Sakamoto. The game will feature four main characters, with no release date announced.

Another iOS and Android title announced by the company is Princess Connect Re: Dive, an RPG with a heavy anime style. It is a follow-up to Princess Connect, Cygames' previous mobile RPG that ended service in June 2016.

Finally, Cygames revealed a new RPG being developed for consoles. Project Awakening is being developed by its new Cygames Osaka studio. No platform or release date was announced, though the studio is known to be focusing on PlayStation 4 development.
