Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix announced it has opened pre-orders for the Season Pass for its upcoming game Final Fantasy XV. The Season Pass, which will be available as part of the Digital Premium Edition for $84.99 or separately for $24.99, is available on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Those who purchase it will gain access to six pieces of content:

  • Booster Pack
  • Episode Gladio
  • Holiday Pack
  • Episode Ignis
  • Episode Prompto
  • Expansion Pack

All of the items listed are working titles, but it gives a general outline of what each DLC may be about. In addition to the Season Pass content, each console will also receive unique rewards when pre-ordering either the Digital Premium Edition or the Season Pass. Both consoles will receive the classic Masamune weapon, optional skins for the in-game car, and the Angler Set and Camera Kit items. Xbox One owners will receive Xbox Avatar items while PlayStation owners will receive two Final Fantasy XV themes and a digital mini-soundtrack.

New information was also released regarding the game's equipment. In battle, Noctis can have four weapons equipped while each other party member can have one main weapon and one sub weapon. Different combinations of equipped weapons, on both Noctis and the party, change the properties of Link Attacks. They will also change the available command options that can be given during combat.

The game will also feature three tiers of resting: camps, trailer houses, and inns. Camps are the standard form of rest in the game and allow for Ignis to cook. Ignis' cooking provides stat boosts for the next day but costs items from the player's stock. Trailer houses will cost a low amount of gil for lodging, but Ignis cannot cook during these portions. Inns, by comparison, are high-cost lodgings that offer unique meals, however, as they won't be cooked by Ignis they will not give the player buffs. Despite the lack of Ignis' cooking in trailer houses and inns, both will provide their own bonuses in relation to their price.

Final Fantasy XV arrives worldwide on September 30, 2016, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
